Quake Live WAS free to play for years, and I do mean YEARS. At least 5 or 6 of them. Now, today, suddenly, pricetag on it. Stats and friends lists and all that and the server browser all got removed. Now it's pay to play. I'm gonna guess they kept the microtransactions for skins and maps in though, I bet.
The game itself costs $10 on Steam now.
They are making a fan made version of Unreal Tournament, google it.
It's gonna rock, I think Alpha is out already.
Nah, he's right. Everyone that bought a pro sub through Steam got the game for free.
Email support@quakelive.com. It isn't fair that the people who played through the launcher have to pay for the Steam version.
Although it's nice mentionning the game, talking about it as an alternative is not objective; Last release has serious fps issues for a "lot" of players / "..." since there are nobody in game / and it's 10 euros as well.
Now you're just following me...
