Bug: [Character] froze to death.
Just had a custom game where Marin froze to death in 15 degree weather on day 12.

Yeah, I got freezers at what I thought were warm temperatures too (+10, though I don't remember any from as high as 15). I wondered if this wasn't a bug too.

Did he have any other bad conditions?

Nothing. We encountered no one hostile, no one was sick, everyone was fed or just hungry.

Guys make sure you're setting the temperature to Centigrade not Fahrenheit, otherwise 10 degrees Fahrenheit is freezing, while Centigrade 10 degrees is mildly cold.

Mine is in C. Didn't even know you could change it.

16C+ is warm. If your survivor still frozen to death then it is glitch. I got survivor died in 24C before.
If you close the game in windows and restart the game it will fix itself, I just had the same thing happen to Bruno when it was 21C after the winter. I think if you leave the game (using the door icon in top right) and come back it will do the same thing.

the game autosaves each morning when your survivor returns from scavenge. It's also the moment when you get the notification of what happened during the night, and if anyone died. So if you find out about the glitch, it is too late to alt tab out of the game and ctrl alt del the application

no, its not. The game is saved before the nights result. Sometimes results are unavoidable, but if you are a save scum it can actually help sometimes to leave the game and load it up again (no process killing needed) for a different result for the night.

I had a character die at the very end of the game Bruno on day 44. It was AFTER winter and I wasn't even keeping fuel in the furnace anymore -- the radio was even talking about warmer weather. . Came back from a scavenge and was notified that one of my characters had frozen during the night and the temp was all of a sudden down to 23F, wtf? Wasn't a big deal considering I was one day from beating the story, but I was cheated on that character's epilogue, and almost certainly an achievement for not losing anyone.

I also had 2 characters die on the last night and only 1 survived.

But the one who survived WAS OUTSIDE IN THE COLD!
The two who died were inside a warm house and there was plenty of wood and burnable items in the inventory. Why they would choose death over life on the last day really beats me..

The random freeze-to-death bug has been around forever. It was rare, but I had it happen once to Arica. I'm pretty sure it didn't repeat when restarting the day. The freeze-to-death bug that happens on the last day is newer.

I also had 2 characters disappear randomly.
I had been out scavenging for the night and when I got home they were gone.

In the end credits it said they both died while looking for supplies even though I had left them at home..

They decided to go out on their own? That sounds like a new bug thread.

I also had a character freeze to death around day 44, while the radio said it was warm and the temperature inside was above 10 Celsius. Next day temperature is -5 Celsius and one guy is dead. Plenty of firewood but didn't put it on because the temperature was so high.

I feel extremely cheated by this: managed to keep everyone alive, was really sympathising with the characters and one just randomly dies. :( Good way to ruin what would otherwise have been one of the best games I've played in ages.

Also just encountered this bug. Came home on day 45, the day the crime wave stops and BAM 2 people dead from freezing...I left the house on day 44 with the temp being 66 F, came back to 21 F the next morning, radio said nothing about cold weather (it's getting hotter, etc) and it was obviously well past winter.

This is my first playthru and it's a REAL bummer to have this sort of crap happen when the game's been out for so long. Any chance they'll be fixing this issue?
