Final cut will force some of the new locations from the stories dlc.

I'm surprised the option to force the anniversary content is still there. I get that returning players will want to prioritize seeing the latest 'final cut' stuff in their first playthrough back, but it only needs to be a temporary option for the current version really.

One of the problems of having both these options active is it confuses new players, they think by selecting these options they are activating content when in fact it just forces a preview of the newest content instead of randomly distributing old & new locations more evenly.

what do you mean preview? i know that for final cut its just adds in new locations from stories dlc "randomly." so it is a preview if you mean just seeing the location but not the new characters and mechanics with it.

What i dont know about is the anniversary edition it says it adds location, characters and new ending. I dont know what those are since its not in patch news im guessing its an old update

I dont get why you cant choose both at the same time since it just adds it "randomly" anyways

It means it forces the new locations to appear during that playthrough, so people can check them out and experience them right away (like a preview).

When the option is not switched on the new locations will just appear randomly and naturally (so it will take a few playthroughs to eventually see them all).

There was a bunch of stuff added to the base game which is all mixed in with each playthrough now.. New characters with new traits etc. The new location was related to a new ending..

The 'new ending' refers to an alternative way of surviving a scenario (the standard end game method was to last until the war is over, the alternative method is a form of escape which allows you to get out while the war is still on).

oh i get it now its just checking it will 100% be included in the playthrough but if its not then that way is just being randomly added or if not at all it is confusing when you gotta choose it though.

Still what does anniversary edition mode add?is it in an old patch news or something curious about that one

nvm you answered it like 3 mins ago lol ty

Yeh, it was a big patch to mark the anniversary of the game, bug fixes & new content.

I guess the main thing that forcing the anniversary content does achieve is it ensures that you will have the option to complete the scenario using either the alternative method (escape) or the standard method (survive).. where as leaving it off will mean you only might get the escape option (should that location randomly appear).

I think once you've seen all the stuff from the various big updates it is best to leave those options unchecked.. this will ensure regular scenarios will be super varied, especially now that there are so many locations to draw from.
