Is discussing stellar ice systems allowed here?
Some places have rules against sharing co-ordinates, etc, for quicksilver systems (where shooting the stellar ice sometimes gives you quicksilver). Are there any rules here against that?

Some people consider it cheating, even though it's not a cheat, but an intended feature of the game, and it's a banned topic over at reddit.

I figure I better ask in advance, just in case I someday post pictures of QS systems with glyphs, and/or make comments about such systems. I don't want to break any rules here. It didn't say anything about this in the rules thread.

Also, I'm assuming that discussing dupe glitches are probably off limits here, but I'll ask anyways - are they?

No, it's fine.

Being that NMS is basically single player theres no problem.

Each player will select which shortcuts will allows itself.

That's good to know. Thanks.

There is no competition in the game so players are free to do what they want. You can use the save game editor and just give yourself stuff if you feel like it. You can only ruin your own game by coloring outside the lines.

You can discuss dupe glitches or whatever "exploit" of the day you want.

The unfortunate truth is that this game is so easy that there really is no need for any extra help. All roads lead to riches in NMS. Most players already know this and so they will not be particularly impressed.

I'm not in it for impressing others. I think it's nice to share useful info. It's the info that's interesting/useful, not necessarily who found it first. Also, no good reason to hoard info either. Got something? Share. Win win, all around.

It's self-regulating in that those who feel it would ruin their games simply don't do it, since they don't want to. And those who DO want to, are not having their games ruined either, since they don't get that "game ruined" feeling from it.

Wait... Reddit actually banned topics on stellar ice?! Ppphht! HAHAHAHA. Now I have to clean the brew off my keyboard... stellar ice... Someone got their knickers in a twist due to pulse fishing? I hear people get all hot and bothered about freighter rerolling to. I feel if some have their way this would be a hideous grind fest mmo where you get nowhere every day and have to spend 1000 hours or a couple of benjamins to merely unlock quicksilver pottery.

It is a single player game, maybe the devs should do something about the RNG garbage, and perhaps make alternative pathways to obtaining stuff instead of time-gating currency for unlockables. Add content that allows for steady progression outside of logging in and doing a very boring daily. If things become too much of a grind people are going to take shortcuts. Grinding is not fun. Ever(even in final fantasy, though watching numbers rise does tickle the dopamine gland). We grind every day, when we clock in to our JOBS.

Again it is a single player game, I don't care what people do as long as it doesn't impinge on others. This is why I have MP turned off.

I know of one system I use for pulse fishing. And it is well known. If you can't find information on reddit because they have a long-standing reputation (some would say tradition) for being ultimately useless at times, youtube has you covered till the devs fix things, though how things end up getting "fixed" is something I cannot predict. There are exploits that need to be fixed though, but go ahead and use them if the grind is depressing you. The Brain Rain exploit is very obvious and quite hilarious and amusing. People will use that because getting nanites especially late game is obnoxious though there are runnaway mold farms that have proven to be somewhat effective without resorting to such cheap tricks.

If you find yourself mired waste-deep in mud progression-wise, then use what YOU yourself are comfortable with. This is a simulation, not many will complain (except reddit) if a plucky resistance warrior starts exploiting "oversights" born from a dying rampant AI god-thing. Unless you actually sympathize with the sentinels.

Are you a sentinel-lover?

Yep. Under a different name, earlier this year or late last year, I tried to post about a quicksilver system that's in Eissentam, and which has really fast appearing stellar ice (about a 4 second pulse). It didn't make it. So, I carefully asked if QS was allowed to be discussed there and was told no. Reddit really did turn out to be as bad as I'd heard!

No, me and the sentinels don't exactly get along. I'm not even sure I trust the Korvax. I think Reddit would side with the sentinels though. :)

Here's the glyphs for the Eissentam Quicksilver System:

You need to be in Eissentam galaxy, of course, or it'll portal you somewhere else.
