Giving a link on their website for further discussion to a subreddit that's locked and only grants entry upon approval would be unprofessional. Locking a subreddit to a private one indicates that you are not welcome to discuss the game at all there.
what?
I probably had more fun as a kid playing inside an empty box.
It would take a hell of alot of "imagination" to ignore the downfalls of this game and actually believe it was good.
It's pretty sad, one triggered SJW had the power to close a place of discussion for thousands just so he could create a safe space for himself. All the sad fool has accomplished is turn away even more people from this sad excuse of a game. I wonder if it was worth it. The funniest thing is, the vast majority of posts on that sub were actually informative and not negative.
It's those little details that are 'tacked' on to opinions that probably piss off people the most, by saying 'it's too complicated for the general public', you're being condescending to those that don't like it.
For both sides, it's like compulsive behavior to mock the other side.
It is also ironic coming from SP, if it's not "too complicated" for him, there is no chance it could possibly be too complicated for the "general public".

Kneejerk reaction. But then again, what you can expect from someone having 1337 letters in his name? Moderator? Bah. I wouldn't even hire him to fetch my morning coffee.

"Hi there. The reddit community team has become aware of this situation. I've reached out to u/R0ugeW0lf to get some explanation as to what he's thinking, so that we can figure out a course that moves us past this and hopefully is a good outcome for everyone. I will report back when I know more.

Hi I appreciate the response, hopefully this gives some insight on how easy it is to remove a place where the community can communicate with each other. I look forward to a response back.

Yes, I agree that it is entirely too easy. This is the second time in recent history that this has happened to a large subreddit. It's very much on my list of things that I care about and want to drive to solution - and it's fairly near the top of that list.
I agree, too many trolls, not enough peopel who can openingly speak abt their experiences of game, thoughts w/e
I wonder what woudl happen if you went into a CoD forum and reciprocated teh same behaviour
TAKE THAT CODDETTES
You mean shut down the game forum? Yeah, I wonder how many would appreciate that.
I am not sure what you mean by that.
