At 5% there is about a 35% chance of not rolling an S class after 20 rolls, and 20% chance of no S class after 30 rolls.
The dice have no memory roll a fail 19 times doesn't change the odds in the twentieth roll.
I have been working on my pirate rep but you can't warp to deliver the contraband while there is an active fight going on. So I end up clearing the dumb thing and blowing it up so I can leave.
So far, every time I went to talk to the defeated pirate captain, it has always been an S class. I already have a nice S class freighter so not interested in it.
That would be the way to go if you can replicate the bug.
The dreadnaught always being class S I think would be a bug.
Among other things they have no (known) freighter-to-freighter weapons.
Capital Freighters is the term used in the wiki and internally in the game.
(Even though the "Sentinel"-type freighters seem to be based upon the model for the Sentinel "dreadnought".)
Pirate is the easiest due to their availability, others will require you to locate the their spawning system first, Pirate exist in all outlaw system along with an extra capital.
Even more reason to do the grind in an outlaw system.
