Moving Beacon Location?

Sorry, I am probably just overlooking one small detail, but the 1st beacon you can see from space on another planet may be trolling me. So I go to the planet and follow the beacon marker and the time till reaching it keeps increasing. The marker is not coming from underground and someone suggested looking in orbit which is my next step. Any ideas? I think this leads me to getting my plans for hyperdrive. I may need to restart the game.

That means the beacon is on the far side of the planet. Fastest way to get there is to head into orbit and jump. Keep just above the stratosphere so you don't lose velocity and you should get there pretty quick. It's sometimes hard to remember that each planet is the actual size of a planet. ;)

Yeah except each time I flew directly at the beacon marker from orbit. 6th time it finally was where it said it was. I am very much aware of the planet sizes. lol
