Try reading the posts before complasining about them. The post directly above yours answers the question
You're not the only one.
This happens to everyone that picks up the DLC ships too early on. As you mentioned, we "missed" our chance of getting the hyperdrive blueprint. I had the same issue as you, but I was lucky enough to find my abandoned ship and switch back to you. I've also found a bunch of crashed ships ( > 5 ) AND talked to EVERY FCKING SINGLE ALIEN WITH A SHIP I FOUND: NONE of them had a FCKING damaged or functioning hyperdrive!
I am also searching for ways to get a blueprint or a hyperdrive so I can switch my ship and get a larger inventory. Suggestions I've found while browsing the web:
- Destroy other ships, there's a chance they'll drop a hyperdrive, supposedly
- Continue endlessly talking to aliens or looking for crashed ships untill you get a hyperdrive.
- EDIT your savefile to give yourself a hyperdrive, as mentioned in this thread:

Good luck and let me know if any of these worked :)
As I said ihn my post its the hyperdrive bug and is known by the developer. I also had this bug.
An online google search should provide some work arounds
