Wormhole/Blackhole Question
Is there some trigger that allows these to work that I am missing? I've easily gone through 20 of these and I never get any closer to the center. I am always in a band between 165,000 to 175,000 lightyears from the center. It says I have traveled over 1 million lightyears but I never get any closer.

Did you skip the Atlas path? I did the Atlas path and so far mine have brought me closer afterwards.

HOWEVER, keep in mind even if you travel 1 million light years, that can take into account all directions so it may not mean you are 1 million light years closer to the center but rather that's just how far you warped through the Black Hole.

Blackholes aren't there to get you closer to the center. They're there to jump you a huge distance across the galaxy. Basically to give you a new section of stars to explore.

I did finish the Atlas path but apparently I missed the memo on keeping the stones, I sold them all so they sent me back out in to the galaxy.

Yeah I understand the 1 million lightyears but that doesn't really work out mathematically. If I am 170,000 lightyears from the center, there is no way I could have traveled 1 million lightyears to end up at that exact same distance away from the center.

Well the concensus is that most people get to the center by way of Wormhole/Blackhole. I don't see myself traveling 170,000 lightyears on a Tau.

Didn't you ask the "electro-guy" for a shortcut to the center, every time you come across one of their spheres? And then he tells you the next blackhole. So it should be a what it's meant to be, a shortcut.

I sure have and I get the same result.

Of course it does. Nobody said you travelled a million lightyears towards the center. Clearly, you spent quite a bit of time just running around in a circle around the center.

Regaurdless of the direction, there is no way I could have traveled 1 million lightyears and still have ended up 170,000 lightyears away from the center. Even if it threw me to the furthest possible spot away from where I was, that would still only be 350,000 lightyears.

As seen here:

For that to work, it would have to be some nonsense like this;

But either way, None of them will take me out of this sphere range.

Yes, the numbers are off by at least one 0 if not more. Havent figured out the formula yet thou.
Currently one jump away from center but..how to enter i wonder when i arrive^^

I gave up on black holes. Was around 168 light years away from center. Went through at least 20 of them and never got any "closer"....just different measures away.

I ended up visiting an Anomaly and begging Nada to get me back on the Atlas path :) That eventually got me to the center.

Weird, ill try that in my new galaxy. BH worked like a charm for me in the 1st one.

This. This is exactly what it's doing to me. I completed the Atlas path but I was apparently the only smuck that didn't get the memo to save the Orbs. Were you able to restart it or did you not finish it yet?

I checked the last 3 blackholes I went through (I finished the Atlas path already). Before last one, I was around 156k lightyears away from centre. After passing it, it was 154k. Thats around average the rate I get passing a blackhole. So it seems to bring you nearer the centre.

I finished it...made to center after got back on the Atlas Path. Good luck... But seriously, don't rush. I think you might regret the planets you miss by rushing to the center. (I do.)

You can always find more Atlas stations and can also buy orbs from the galactic market.

Well yeah, I didn't get a memo on keeping the Atlas stones either... I had more than 10 when I turned them in (I had bought some). I figured they were important because of how they are earned (besides buying any).

After receiving 10 for free is when I was able to turn them in, even though I had bought 2 it didn't speed it up any, I still received 10 from the Atlas stations.

Also you COULD ump in any other direction that isn't towards the center and you can wind up relatively the same distance... it may happen or it may not, it's rng.

It doesn't seem they are guaranteed ways to get closer to the center. I didn't only use Black Holes.... I also did some of my own jumping. Having just a Tau won't help you much but you can hang out in a ship port and look for one that has more warp drives or go looking for them.

Either way, this game has a lot of RNG to it.... that's something I was aware of and expecting from the game based on what we knew.

Anyway, keep at it... you'll get there.
