That's why getting great deals like this is sometimes really useful. Yes, I got great deals on my S-class ships in this way too.
It does bring up a question:
When I look at a ship in a space station, let's say a hauler for example. It's shown as a 39-slot ship. It looks like all of those slots are available to be used without storage augs. But, does that mean that 39 slots will be the maximum, so no more storage augmentations can be applied?
(Yes, I'm talking about no modding or save-editing. I know that can be done. I'm just trying to get the gist of the nomenclature in NMS.)
Before Outlaws, all Starships could be upgraded with Storage Augmentations to I think 48 slots, pretty much making Haulers unnecessary. Haulers will upgrade further (maybe 56?), and everything else maxes at 48. I think.
