how to build large room for farming
As in title. Are people just making walls and connecting them? I've seen messages about 6x6 cuboid room, but the cuboid room itself is just a little box. Thanks!

Add more cuboids.

I did but they appeared to be individual 1x1 rooms and i would have to put in doors with no growing space. I'm sure I am missing something

Cuboids connect to form larger rooms, not small 1x1 rooms

You dont need to put doors in between cuboid rooms, just ad another cuboid room next to the room you already built.

i am playing on PC and find that connecting cuboid rooms do not make larger ones. Also rotating does not work on the PC version.
I'd be interested in hearing experience of other PC players. Is my game bugged or the game in general?

On my PC, it works perfectly fine. Just build 36 cuboids room one next to the other, to form a 6x6 square, and you'll have ONE big room.

I'm on a PC (well, laptop) and they create a single larger room. And I can roate just fine, it's just difficult sometines. I think it has to do with what is next to each other. I had difficulty rotating my cargo container so the computer terminal was inside but that was only becuase I was rotating next to a wall and the terminal wanted to stick to the wall and skip where I wanted it to go. Once I sorted that out, it was no problem.

I've built a 9x9 cuboid room but then realized it was too big for my needs. My command center is a much smaller 5x5 (or is it 5x4) cuboid room. I've placed all my terminals in this "room"

Each side of the cuboid room you place should highlight a connection. When you placed it, the next one should immediately lock into a spot, but if you're a little off or moving your mouse, it can place the room as another standalone box.

You just need to make sure that your cursor is on the green highlighted arrow when you place it, the boxes should then connect properly.

I find it easier to place one box, add a door, and then expand the room from the inside.

you all were right (except still some problem with rotation). Thanks for your help!

mmmm there must be a bug somewhee because I put 3x3 cuboid rooms together and all I got was 9 cuboid rooms... they never merge into a larger one :(

As mentioned previously in this thread, cuboid rooms have to be matched by the green arrows before placing them out. If you just randomly place cubes next to each other they won't connect. One way to do this is by building from inside out.

(1) create one cuboid, and make a door on one of the walls
(2) enter the cuboid
(3) select a new cuboid from the menu when you are inside the first cuboid. You will see connecting dots on each wall of your cuboid: these are places where you can place your new (second) cuboid. Some dots are red and one dot might be green.
(4) move the cursor so that one dot becomes green (point your cursor to the wall where you want your second cuboid to be). build the second cuboid and then repeat to your heart's desire expanding the room.

Remember, to get a big room made out of cuboids, at least I find it easier to build from the inside (and then expanding outward).

A correctly crafted cuboid room should look like this from the inside;

I find my fps drops through the floor if my farm room is as large as yours.
