Can't reach the Korvax scientist

So I'm doing the base building quest thingie. I've got the Gek controller in place, and have now built the science terminal. The Gek overseer now wants me to go hire a Korvax man that station. My map indicator says he's on the space station so I go up there, land, but when I get out the indicator shows that the scientist is....out in space, I guess. The indicator is centered smack in the center of the exit of the space station. I fly back out there and the compass spins, points right back at the space station again. I've run around everywhere in the space station, talked to every single Korvax in there (it's a Korvax system) but can't find him anywhere. Am I missing something, or is there a way to reset the mission? Thanks for any help.

It's enough to go to a space station where a Korvax NPC is located, no need to go in a Korvax system. However: once in the space station, it's important that you re-select the mission in your log, then you will be guided towards a Korvax NPC with an icon over his head. Interact and you are done.

This game likes to switch objectives on you. Whenever you feel stuck, check your log for what mission is active...as japp mentioned. The game will always trump your existing mission for whatever new thing comes up as you are exploring. It is annoying, but it is pretty quick to check your log and re-select.

I had a problem with the quest at one point too except the marker disappeared.
I ended up travelling to a few Korvax systems with water and found him like that.

Also he was just randomly standing past the ramp near the wall on the teleport side (close to where there is usually an NPC watching ships fly in) so I don't know if he shows in different spots.
I remember being surprised by it because I thought he was just another one of the random NPC's that hang out there (I was expecting him to be out back too) and I was talking to him to learn a word. I started skipping his text until I realised he was saying something different.

Might be worth a try visiting a few different systems but perhaps not waste too much time if it is not working out. It did work for me though, either that or I just got insanely lucky finding a needle in a haystack.

That helped me a lot. Didn’t realize it wouldn’t give me a marker and I’ve spent the past few hours looking for one. Half a year late but thanks for the insight.
