Ship inventory slot factors?
Does having a ship with more slots affect the random npc ship-slot # that come and land at trading posts/wherever?
My current ship is a fighter B:26+5 and I'm waiting for a max slot S class fighter to land but I'd settle for getting slightly better ships a couple of times if it speeds the spawn rates

I hear that in wealthy stations, S-Class ships are more likely to show up.

Also, S-Class ships have max slots for their type. So S-Class = Max Slots.

Edit: corrected in later post

No, that is not totally true. There are S class fighters with 20 slots. They get the max for that body style, but not all fighers have the same body style.
speaking of which, max sized fighters *invariably* have the 2 side tubes along the main fuslage. You should find one of those models that you like to farm for your 38/12 S. I recommend looking in rich vykeen systems.

Woops, I misread the wiki. :steamfacepalm:

...
S-class ships will always have the highest amount of inventory space for its tier size, as well as a 50% or more class bonus.
...
There is 3 Teir sizes, with the Shuttle having no large teir, and Exotic having only a small their size.

Technically you can find a S Class anywhere there is a landing pad (or at a crash site?), but the odds are better in a wealthy area with a lot of traffic; like a station.

I actually did see an Exotic land at my base once or twice, and the rare S class ship once every week or so, but that's because I pretty much stop what I'm doing and check out who is visiting when I hear the landing pad activate.

At the risk of sounding like I'm bragging, I did have an S Class large teir fighters land at my base tonight, and I had money to buy it! :steamhappy: I even had time to summon in my Class B large teir storage fighter I was kinda sorta planning on doing something with and trade it in for the better one and saved about 10 million. Halfway killed my savings, but it is great having that type of ship at max.

Lucky crap like that is going to make it even harder to ignore the sounds of that landing pad. :steamfacepalm: So many interruptions...

I just saw an S class fighter with only 17 slots in a rich Vy'Keen system land in the space station.

anything less than 20, a good exotic is flat out better.
above 20 and for sure above 30, fighters begin to be the better pick. You need about 50M & a decent trade to score one.

The class does not affect the amount of slots a ship has only shields, weapon damage and hyperdrive. Each ship type except shuttles have three sizes small, medium and large, and the amount of slots is random so some RNG is involved in finding the one you want.

Shuttles
Small shuttle 18-23 slots / 3-6 tech slots
Medium 19-28 slots / 5-8 tech slots

C: 0% Damage | 0% Shield | 0% Hyperdrive
B; 0-5% Damage | 0-5% Shield | 0-5% Hyperdrive
A: 5-10% Damage | 5-10% Shield | 5-10% Hyperdrive
S: 15-20% Damage | 15-20% Shield | 15-20% Hyperdrive

Fighters
Small 15-19 slots / 2-4 tech slots
Medium 20-29 slots / 3-5 tech slots
Large 30-38 slots / 5-12 tech slots

C: 5-10% Damage | 0% Shield | 0% Hyperdrive
B; 15-30% Damage | 5-10% Shield | 0% Hyperdrive
A: 35-50% Damage | 15-20% Shield | 0% Hyperdrive
S: 55-60% Damage | 15-25% Shield | 0% Hyperdrive

Explorer
Small 15-19 slots / 3-5 tech slots
Medium 20-29 slots / 5-8 tech slots
Large 30-38 slots / 8-12 tech slots

C: 0% Damage | 0% Shield | 7-15% Hyperdrive
B: 0% Damage | 0-8% Shield | 20-30% Hyperdrive
A: 0% Damage | 10-15% Shield | 35-45% Hyperdrive
S: 0% Damage | 20-25% Shield | 50-65% Hyperdrive

Haulers
Small 25-31 slots / 2-4 tech slots
Medium 32-39 slots / 4-6 tech slots
Large 40-48 slots / 6-8 tech slots

C: 0% Damage | 12-20% Shield | 0-5% Hyperdrive
B; 0-5% Damage | 25-35% Shield | 5-10% Hyperdrive
A: 5-10% Damage | 40-50% Shield | 15-25% Hyperdrive
S: 10-20% Damage | 55-60% Shield | 30-35% Hyperdrive

The class stats may have changed since Next became live im not that sure.
Exotic ships only come in S class i think and only come with slots between 15-20 with 4-6 tech slots, you cannot get them with anymore than that.
