you can only have 1 ground base and 1 freighter base at one time. So you can't really move items from one base to another and have 2 bases at once; but you can destroy all, grab all your materials, and rebuild elsewhere.
you should destroy a plant, then the hydro to move a plant. Pretty much follow the rule of destroy in reverse (generally) of how you made stuff (decorations and interiors before rooms, as another example).
No, only relocate when you want to, the only advantage is if you want to harvest a different gas, mineral, or grow a different type of plant outside (without trays/domes).
you probably want to destroy before you hop galaxy, I forget how that behaves now... havent done it in a very long time.
ie. The explorer has the materials to build the ground level with the storage containers and the galactic trade terminal. The haulers are named for the levels they hold materials for. My base has 4 levels. Hauler 1-2 has the materials to finish off level 1 and all of level 2. Hauler 3-4 has the rest.
This way I get everything back and don't have to collect/mine materials to do it all over again.
Also consider this when crossing to the next galaxy. If you take your fully decked out, main ship to cross the center it will come out the other side completely broken, requiring a lot of scavenging to make it all work again. If you get a junky cheap shuttle with ONLY the three warp upgrades installed you will only need to fix the launch thruster to get back to your freighter (once you call it) to get your main ship back and be off and running. You can fix the junky shuttle at your leisure.
Also, there is no need to dismantle your base everytime you go to a new system. You can always teleport back to it from the station of whatever system you are in. The only time I relocated my base was when I found a newer, cooler location. When I was still in Euclid I kept my base in the rim for a very long time while moving closer to the center. I only moved it when the last universe reset put most of it underground.
Good luck and pleasant journey Traveller.
The blueprint can be learned by completing an Overseer quest nowadays.
And indeed is there, thanks.
