Why can i not find any in demand items at trading posts?
I have been trying to make money in no mans sky and everyone says the best money making method is to find a item thats in demand (the ones with the star next to them) at trade terminals and sell that item there. The problem is i havn't found a single in demand item and i have been playing for 3 or 4 days now. Does anyone know how to find them?

If you mean you can't find the items themselves, you have 2 options, either buy them low then sell them high in another system. Or you get them from missions from time to time.

If you mean you can't find them on the board, go to the sell screen and the green star(or red) will be to the right of the items name.

There's also a method to driving prices down. Search youtube for that.

Every system has its own 'on demand' items, you see them when you fire up the selling page and look for green price reductions.
For knowing which item will sell high in a system you must look at the 'purple' description of the item and then fly into such a system and sell it there. To find these systems you also need the scanners to use in the galactic map which are hard to come by.
Without scanners you can still keep these things in your ship slots until you get in a suitable system, but you may soon run out of slots in doing other things.

IMO, it's only worth to trade in big quantities and with the scanners, otherwise it's not worthwile.

I'm farming for Liquid Explosives.
Home System is +-969.000 units. If it is in another system more then 1 million I sell them all I have.

gold * is old game, its gone. Also, the prices are supply/demand driven now. If you sell a ton to one place, the price will bottom out fast. You have to keep moving.

Now you need to install the econ scanner in your ship. Look at galaxy map. Look at system. Look for a B (buy?) of more than 19. Go there. Sell stuff.

If you are trading, reverse this and look for a S(ell) planet to buy from, and a B planet to sell to. But mostly you will do best by making stuff via farming (and possibly mining, the complex alloys can be profitable now esp if you loot the mid tier ones to make the high end ones...) and selling at B places.

I have been looking for those damn gold stars since 1.3 launched as well. Eventually, I assumed they were no longer in the game but it's good to hear someone confirm it.

Can you still buy'/sell items effectively in the current system without an econ scanner? Like buying from an alien ship and selling to the GTN or is that not possible (or worth the trouble) now? I have just been mining Emeril and such to sell but that gets pretty tedious.

you have to change systems to buy/sell for profit now. The price is the same in same system at the station now, might vary on planet from station, not sure.
can you get the economy scanner as a merchants guild reward?

I've only seen it at the nanite merchants, and it's really rare there, too - but I guess it wouldn't be impossible.

Any data miners know what's on the mission rewards lists?

just a tip for anyone else looking for the economy scanner, always look for it in gek controlled systems. they sell ship parts at the nanite trade stations, korvax sell exosuit upgrades and vykeen sell multitool upgrades
I just found the economy scanner :)
