cactus flesh

Hey folks I'm trying to fam cactus flesh and am having some trouble finding it.

Does it show up on the scanner same as other exotic plants with the ingot icon? Do the only planets that have it say so from orbit?

The gamepedia page says it can be on barren or snow biomes but on cold planets I only ever find frost crystals.

Also, are star bulbs available on all lush planets or just some?

I though Cactus was on the hot planets? I mean it would stand to reason. I planted 4 of them on my base and don't even remember why i wanted them to start with.

The gamepedia page says desert and snow biomes, barren ones. Their biomes page says barren biomes are on desert or dead planets.

As for hot planets, I only ever seem to get solarium just like I only get frost crystals on cold planets.

<trivia> deserts are places with low amounts of precipitation so polar deserts are just as valid as sandy deserts and it would follow that on alien planets, plants which are adapted to low amounts of water could easily grow in cold places. <trivia>

Either way, I can't find cactus flesh.

Cactus Flesh is the new version of old Spadonium (same harvestable cacti) a.k.a basically prickly pears...you find them in desert, barren or hot biomes. Basically if its parched or warm it can have them. They can be hard to locate though, as they blend right in with the other non-harvestable cacti, sometimes even hugging them tightly.

it will show up with the ingot icon. i have found tons. on a desert planet. i have 2k sitting in boxs. i barely use it.

you only need to get a couple of plants going to start with as you get 100 per plant per harvest i just have 5 cactus 30 mushrooms and 4 mordite plants in my plant base in the glass domes...nets almost 4 mill every 30 mins making/selling explosives but yes the moon for my base is parched and full of cactus.

Okies, I found it, looks like i was looking in the wrong place.

It grows on desert planets, not hot planets and it scans with an ingot icon.
