Am I Missing Something
Okay so I am new to this game and the one thing I am finding really frustrating is how little information this game provides for new players. I have gotten a mission from the mission agent on one of the stations which requires me to kill creatures on a planet.

Now unless I am missing something, the mission is not possible because there seems to be nowhere that tells me exactly which creatures I need to kill and on which planet I need to kill them.

On a side note, I keep finding these containers that require an Atlas Pass to open them. What is an Atlas Pass and where do I get one?

did you go to a planet and kill creatures? it might just be any planet and any creature?
sometimes you need to open the galaxy map to see if you need to fly to a different system.

as for the Atlas pass, I can't answer that.

There's a whole guide section in the menu that explains a lot.

You can kill any animal on any planet for these missions. If you press the visor button it tells you how many you need.

For other missions you need to have the quest selected in order for markers/directions to show up.

Atlas passes are unlocked as you progress the game.

Okay, so I am looking at this game and thinking it is so complex because of how large the game is. I am starting to realise how basic and generic everything in the game is. The missions are ridiculous. Being hired to randomly kill anything on any planet? Come on!! You can create a game this vast and you cannot come up with something a little more specific than, "go kill anything on any planet?

And I have just discovered that you can just pick multiples of the same type of mission and complete them all at the same time.

Disappointment!! I was hoping for something a little more in depth.

Oh, and I read the entire guide. There is a lot of essential stuff it doesn't explain.

Your first atlas pass you get from polo.

Go to the first atlas station and after you do a couple more warps there will be a sepcial space station in the system that has a purple icon. inside are a couple of guys, one called polo and he gives you the atlas pass v1.

As far as I remember all the V1 containers have warp fuel or ingredients for warp fuel in them.

So I am looking for just one guy (alien, thing, you know what I mean)? In an endless map of interlinked star systems. Cool, so no chance of accidentally missing that then.

Just be patient and play the game, they'll show up. Not everything has to be explained straight away.

More advanced missions will have you killing specific types of creatures, eg. predators. Yes, the missions are not very deep, mostly fetch quests.

Yoou're looking for a guy you get directed straight to who's station has a bigass and unmissable icon.

It appears that for some missions to succeed without ending abruptly, you must do all things required in the right sequence explained at the yellow waypoint markers or in your 'Log' screen. Doing missions out-of-synch may lead them to be broken.
This may not be your problem, but reading elsewhere this is an issue apparently.
