How to Use the Portals?

So, I have opened and walked through a portal to another planet, but I am clueless as to what is supposed to happen next.

I can't summon my ship to fly around the planet and the walk to the nearest trading post is 18hrs away.

The portal stays open so I can walk back to my home planet and close the portal from my home world, but can't seem to close the portal from the world I travelled to.

Am I missing something or is how the portals actually operate?

The portal or stargate allows you to travel via foot to another world. Problematicly as you have noticed your ship remains on the other side which is typicly in another star system possibly.

is there a way to expand a portal?
or find a large portal that can handle a ship going through?

Not that i know off, the gates are meant for quick excersions to other planets on foot from what i seen. Not really meant to be a means of ship travel.

would be nice if there are hostile advanced civilizations that come for you and you fly right through a portal to escape and so forth as they chase you and whatnot

who knows
one day the "Space Exploration" becomes a "Space Survival" aswell

And I hope one day, someday you can make a world engine capable of destroying planets

Um destroying a planet is rather simple actually and you dont need some mega super weapon to do it. You just need a MAC and a asteroid. Aim and let gravity do the work.

I was thinking of finding a Nokia and shooting it at the world from the outmost layer of a planet's atmosphere and see the impact that would destroy worlds...

I don't even know how they work. I found one, got an address I couldn't do anything with, and when I wanted to go through it, I don't know how to enter symbols. What's the trick to it?

I can't STAND Kurt Russel.

The only reason I accept him in GOTG2 is because the role of Ego seems rather fitting for him. (Loved the scene where Yondu lands on him.)

I'm not sitting through that turkey of a movie again. I saw it at the theatre when it came out, and no way in hell am I wasting another moment on it.
