Is there some type of cruise control?

So I'm on a planet flying towards a ? and I've got about 20 minutes to get there even with shift boost going, but once I take my finger off of the W key, my ship starts slowing down.

Is there some sort of cruise control that I'm not aware of that will keep my ship moving forward until I press S to slow down?

With as long as it takes to get anywhere, I'd love to go get something to eat / drink while waiting on my ship to arrive at the ? 20 minutes from now without having to resort to the Homer Simpson bird.

Just like irl you just point your ship into space where you can travel much faster. then when you are over the destination descent.

On a side note - there was a "cruise control" like you want, they patched it out. Your best bet is what Megus said - climb up and go faster there.

yeah, i am missing the feature ships keep their speed.
maybe someone can mod it in? who knows, its just aminor nuisance, great game.
