Improved Aquariums and Terrariums
Two building parts that I think could use a little more variety are the aquarium and the terrarium. I think they add a touch of amazing to any base, however, I would love to see some variety in the flora and fauna present. Maybe adding a "catch" mechanic would create a more immersive experience.

I propose that schools of fish and small critters that you cannot tame should be catch-able. This would give crops, agricultural products, and cooked food additional uses as they would be crafted into specific baits (meat, berry, etc). These baits would be placed using the same basic building menu (Z) in a new tab accessed by using (A) and (D) keys. Recipes would be purchased from a new Iteration, in a section beside Cronus, perhaps shifting the egg incubator to the left slightly would provide the space.

Currency to purchase bait recipes would come from Cronus OR the proposed new Iteration. You must provide a cooked dish to receive something similar to salvage data or navigation charts rather than the current 0-300 nanites from Cronus. Quality determines how many of these currency units you receive, probably 1-3 per item that is not a raw ingredient.

Getting back to the aquarium and terrarium, I propose adding more sizes, or perhaps even shapes. Both are one-sized circular enclosures with one preset fauna. Adding two additional sizes to both and implementing a slot system would allow the player to have places to show off their caught fish and critters. Small tanks can hold one species, medium tanks can hold two species, and large tanks can hold three.

Lastly, the enclosures should have a habit change feature. The chosen habit will not affect the species placed in slots, but merely an aesthetic chose, similar to changing the colors of base building parts using (G).

I like the capture idea, it’d really give each enclosure a unique feeling from one another, it’d also probably get me to go back into my discovery catalog n look for old neat creatures I came across.

For the aquarium I feel like a segmented tank you can expand, kind of like the cube buildings, would be cool. Really giving you the option to shape your tank the way you want it. Maybe even making aquatic structures like the glass tube hallways applicable to it, though I don’t think that would work well with unique aquatic captures.🐠

I also like the selection idea. The programming to make that happen might be very complicated since both are a set animation piece currently. I could see a problem with server calls in an MP setting to make that work since it is really stored server side.

That is probably why we don't have it already. HG is not one to miss an obvious (oh wow!) kind of feature unless it really does not work in practice very well.

+1 to this. It would be really awesome to be able to put the fish you catch into the aquarium. It looks very empty now and not too exciting.
