MY TAKE ON THE ISSUE
I think the underlying problem with these options is that from my experience the expeditions are just a condensed "main story" in terms key progression unlocks to speed you new character to end game without having to do the "main story" just to show off the very little new content to promote each new expedition. It seems more of a poorly designed way of trying to keep player engagement in a endless loop of starting fresh to avoid the non existent end game loop. Yes the new solar ships look cool but they don't add much to the game or stand out from the other ship more than design (IE recharging your ship at a star would make sense (elite dangerous)) pirate held systems are nice but not much in the way of a bounty system or a in depth and lucrative smuggling system (elite dangerous) you can see where I'm coming from these seem like foundations rather than fully fleshed out ideas to try and keep the player base engaged all while working on their next big and more ambitious project yet to be named from my understanding. I feel this game is taking a lot of ideas from Elite dangerous and just like Elite dangerous not expanding on these foundations ill be it elite dangerous did expand upon a lot of these features but never saw a lot of their visions realized be it the lore or game mechanics. I played this back in 2019 and to this day the economy is still the same and doesn't change "activated indium farm" still the best/easiest way to make money fast and not a lot to spend it on other than a fleet and some S class ships and multi-tools then nothing.
Would it be better if you didn't have to start a new save at all to play an Expedition? Would it be better if you could use your existing save game, whatever it is, to play an Expedition?
E6, just warp to the next galaxy and bypass all the rendezvous points. Does not sound as fun.
E3, just call in another ship and leave the planet. No need to fix the specialized engine they provide with unique parts. Again, does not sound like fun...actually pointless.
I would just like to finally play with my friends without having the need to create a Normal Mode save because my best save is Expedition...
