Exit your Starship in Space
Is there some reason why we still can't get out of our ship whilst in space?

To prevent bad things from happening, just make it so that a ship needs to be travelling at 0 speed and be far enough away from a planet (perhaps a new command in the same menu where you find the galaxy map and comms features would contain this new command to stop the ship and exit). The exosuit's jetpack would provide the thrust to move in space, and you could stick all kinds of objects that would be interacted in this manner with the new Pulse Jump Anomaly system. Anything from wrecked starships, to salvageable debris, to those wrecked freighters that could be boarded and explored.

There has always seem to be something peculiar about the zone known as "Space Flight" and how that works within the current game engine.

It "seems" simple... the "Spaceships" including NPC ships, can fly near and land on planet surfaces and then (without seemingly any transition) right out into space. However, does it really require a landed/stationary ship "surface" for the player character to teleport/eject from inside the ship onto, instead of being able to do that "anywhere, anytime" ... i don't think it's that easy (for whatever reasons).

Almost every video i have seen since game released, of anyone able to glitch through freighter walls to eventually jump off the side into space, shows the player character begin to "free-fall in one direction only", the same direction as the direction of gravity acting below their feet while standing normally on the freighter decks.

During these so-called "space-walks", no matter which way you look and/or use your jet pack, you continuously fall in that one direction with no control.

Earlier game release, when you could command your freighter WAY closer to the planet (even making it clip-crash partially into the planet surface) you could call it into low orbit, fly up to it, glitch through the walls and free-fall for several minute to eventually come to rest on the planet surface...

I guess you could have called it a type of easter-egg, that you would have maybe wanted to "enjoy one time only", since the boring meter would soon flash red and off the charts, watching, your character, in first person, slowly fall, for SEVERAL, minutes. LoL.

In my layman view, i still think there are certain technical hurdles that maybe impossible to overcome with the current "Universe(s) build... for one thing, "why still" are NPC freighter flight groups unable to cruise around normal space, always just stationary.

Also side note, the other day, i cleared the asteroids belt above a planet pushing a "space-creature" into the upper atmosphere (they have form since they get caught on every single asteroid it got pushed into, what a pain :)... after the really high jet-stream clouds materialized, as it fell towards the clouds, the creature vanished. So, that seemingly tells me there are distinct differences between the way "space and spaceflight" and "high altitude and planetary flight" works (as we have always known).

Have Fun :)
