No error code if it crashes ?

You may have a look into your windows Event Viewer for more Info about that crash.

WINKey+R opens RUN, here type eventvwr

Here expand Windows Logs and look under Application for warnings with a Timestamp of that crash.

Copy&Paste the details here, so we can check it

And disable all mods

hmm
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.22621.3593,
could be because something else did go wrong before ..
There should be a crash dump file
If you can upload your crash dunp file into a cloud, with permission to download it, I´ll look into it
it should be in :
WinKey + R opens RUN than copy this: %localappdata%\Temp

and looks like :
NMS_crash_xxxxxxxxxx_NMSVersion_0xCrashcode_SteamID.dmp
zompe12 Apr 1 @ 11:53am
no crash dump file named is appearing there. i even tried launching the game multiple again if it would put a dump in the temp file, but for some reason its not there.

because it never did start .. and therfore not crash

You may try a clean boot
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

hide all Microsoft services... than disable all but Steam
zompe12 Apr 1 @ 11:56am
only things that are apearing are
45c4bfb7-c2df-46f7-94be-60284ac8d9ec.tmp
a04c88a2-a3a2-4491-9aee-fe24b0b5d375.tmp
cf0bb5ff-e148-4a79-b642-ba87c80669ee.tmp. they seem to show up when the game fails to launch
zompe12 Apr 1 @ 11:14pm
anyways, no luck with the clean boot. still wont launch. FYI it used to work couple of updates back, before aqaruis relics and the worlds update. i did some googling about the ucrtbase.dll fault, some say its nvidia related issue some saying its caused by the latest update by the game. dont know. doing sfc scannow.. to see if it does anything
zompe12 Apr 2 @ 12:13am
sfc scannow did not do nothing. like i thought. I did reinstall c+++ visual libraries too. but no luck with that either.

Check Windows Update.
My Win11 system got an update to that dll after the Win11 24H2 feature update was installed. It's a newer version than reported in your error event. It wasn't done as part of any NMS update/patch.
zompe12 Apr 2 @ 12:53am
i have the latest update to windows. was it(the dll) supposed to get fixed in the update? or did the update break it?
smurfy Apr 2 @ 1:28am
I'm not sure, still investigating. My 24H2 update was done 16 Feb and that file got updated 17 Feb.

Event Viewer logs don't go back that far to see what updated it.

My version 10.0.26100.3037

Not saying it's a fix, just that there is at least a newer version available from somewhere.
Musashi Apr 2 @ 2:13am
@zompe12
Have you done this steps ?

1) delete sl.pcl.dll in \Steam\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries and launch game,
1) delete everything inside C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\NGX\models and launch the game

OK, so tracked it down.
It is Microsoft Visual C++ but not the 2015-2022 Redistributable as you might expect.

It was 2012 11.0.61030 and 2013 12.0.30501 (x86 and x64).

Sure enough, this post[answers.microsoft.com] suggests a solution to be a full uninstall and clean reinstall of the latest versions.

You already mentioned reinstalling yours, but not how many of them and how you did it.
zompe12 Apr 2 @ 2:48am
my ucrtbase.dll got corrupted. (for some reason, most like during my previous clean install, maybe) that it would not register the fixed/corrected version, even if i used the cmd to re register it. None the less, i did a clean install again, and it seems to launching fine now.
i have no sure way to know how it got corrupted in a first place. and its funny that the sfc scan could not fix it.. Anyways.

Thank you both for you help
