Regarding No Man's Sky's HDR Support...
I think it's generally agreed that No Man's Sky has pretty bad HDR support, but I haven't really seen anyone itemize the major issues with it within the past couple years, and evidently the situation has changed since then. If anyone wants to add onto this or say that they aren't having the same problems as me, please go ahead, but these are the issues that are actively hurting my ability to play this game in more ways than one:

1. The game appears to fight with Windows 10's HDR handling. If you have HDR turned off in-game (which photosensitive players absolutely will have to, with the following problems), it override's Windows's HDR method and makes the entire screen washed out and dull even after closing the game. The only way to fix it is to either restart Windows or disable and re-enable HDR colors in Windows's settings, which on at least one occassion has hard crashed my GPU (That's an AMD issue though, not NMS's).

2. Depending on the planet your own, colors will bleed together and get so oversaturated that it's impossible to make out details. This is especially obvious on planets with mostly red plant-life.

3. As far as I can tell there is no option to tweak the HDR values to match your screen or eyes like other games with HDR support have. I understand maybe not being able to set the white boundary, but by default the game's HDR settings are incredibly bright and there's no option to lower the brightness in-game. This is made especially egregious by...

4. Visuals that flash the screen pure white for brief instances. This is by far the biggest issue because it has legitimately stunned me on at least one occasion. The most obvious example is whenever you equip the analysis visor, before the overlay loads in the whole screen goes white for a fraction of a second. On SDR that's mildly annoying at worst, but on HDR it can feel like someone setting off a camera flash right in your eyes every time you open the visor. I admit I have very minor photosensitivity (not epileptic, mind you), but I can't be alone in finding this to be a legitimate issue.

I understand HDR support doesn't have a uniform standard at the moment, and setups vary wildly from user to user, but I figure it should be a high priority to at least add options like a brightness slider and an accessibility option to disable or downplay instances of bright flashing. Personally I would prefer to play with HDR turned off in NMS at this point, but I don't want to have to restart Windows every time I finish playing in order to turn HDR back on.

I've just played with the Nvidia settings, and it's working fine in all games.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
