Faecium/Feeding Animals Bugged?

So, I got to the part where you need some Living Glass (thus, needing Lubricant) for one of the techs to install on the tool.

This means I need Faecium, so I landed on a planet...

And I fed like a dozen animals and not one of them dropped any, and I could even hear squish sounds like they should drop it, but no faecium appeared.

Spent a decent amount of time feeding and waiting, and didn't get a single one. Is it bugged or something?

You can refine Faecium.

Set up three Atmosphere Harvesters on a planet rich in Nitrogen. Lush and Paradise planets, for instance.

Then refine:

Nitrogen->Sulphurine

Nitrogen+Sulphurine->Faecium

Feels more dignifying that picking up poop

Also, farmable Gutrot Flower produces Faecium but refining is simpler and quicker.

That's an awful lot of trouble to go through just to get enough Faecium to make a single living glass to make a single tech.

I'd probably be better off poking random pilots hoping one of them is selling faecium.

The point of the thread was the "official" way to get it doesn't seem to be working and something is really screwed up because out of a dozen+ animals I fed, not a single one dropped any poop.

It sounds complicated but it's not. If you already have a base on a paradise planet an some refiners this would not take a lot of effort at all.

Another option is to go to the Anomaly and ask players to give you some. I don't remember if you can buy Faecium.

Mordite refines to faecium, so just shoot animals to collect mordite. Also, internet says in a medium refiner, "1 Mordite +1 condensed carbon = 4 faecium. 1 Mordite + 2 carbon = 3 faecium. 1 Oxygen + 1 Faecium = 3 Faecium."

I have the same Bug you have the Animation and the sound and they dont drop Faecium

and it's not that it can be made differently, but that it was before the update and not

anymore

Oh. Huh. I wasn't aware of the recipes.. thanks for those, that'll be way easier. I got tons of o2, carbon, etc and mordite ain't hard to get.

Only need 50 for this recipe.

I also just discovered that the latest NMS updates now allow you to install a medium personal refiner with two slots instead of just one. So, you can now make these recipes in your suit refiner. NMS has gobs of recipes to expand/convert many of the crafting materials. Just google a NMS material, and you should find a link to NMS Wiki with the formulas.

Yeah, I knew quite a few refining recipes, but I never had reason to look up Faecium before because it is almost never used in anything that I commonly deal with.

My favorite is making Paraffnium because dang, that stuff is So annoying to get ahold of. So mixing some silver and oxygen to make it, both of which are plenty, is way better than trying to mine it because for some odd reason, Paraffinium deposits are oftentimes bugged.

Getting Faecium from feeding animals
All you need to do is craft some creature pellets in your inventory, then feed them to an animal. Follow it around and it will eventually drop Faecium.

And this dont work after update.

Was just gonna say, I tried this on two different planets and it doesn't work lol.

I have the same issue. Creatures and pet companions are still not pooping (poor things); also when pet companions are "digging up resources" they go through the animation and come back to the player, however they don't actually drop any resources.

animals pooping is fixed at experimental

so fix will appear sooner or later to public
