There were two aquatic species on this planet, and one flying one. For the flying ones, just shoot them down then scan the dead body.
The missing one here is not a flying species or an aquatic one. It is simply bugged and will not spawn this last one.
Two species left, and I'm not albe to understand what I'm missing. Stuck. :/
I wanna move on, but my mind is telling me "FIND THIS DAMN CRITTER!"
To add to my aggravation, there's a small, carnivorous Turd Moose species which spawns by the dozens and like to ram/bite. I've stopped even bothering trying to kill all the buggers because it just eats up isotopes I need for trying to find this damn missing link... but they make sitting still waiting for spawns quite tedious.
I've also even tried gaming the game mechanics. I've noticed things outside tend to despawn/respawn if you go inside a building like an outpost with a trade terminal. That may be way more specific than the engine requires, but I've managed to clear the landing pad of ships this way quite effectively if I need to call my own, so I'm fairly certain it is a thing. So I've been running in and out of buildings trying to reboot the fauna nearby. Still nothing.
Did you hit the bar that says 100%? That bar is actually the button too.
Was worth a shot. Maybe try restarting the game?
