[Settlement bug] building spawned inside hill...
hello

Well, title is self-explanatory. And this happened of course only after i finally found the perfect-looking settlement, on a beautiful swamp planet, and built a HUGE A** F***ING Pyramid right next to it.

There is this rather tall, anomalous hill a little too close, but i did not think it would have been a problem, because the previous two buldings had been spawned nicely around it.

Any advice? The console that you interact with to submit the materials is just BARELY out of my reach inside the rock. I can hear it's buzzing. I have tried building floor tiles but they only barely put a dent in the terrain.
I'd rather not go for a new settlement, only for it to glitch permanently as i've heard can happen.

Thanks for your attention.

For me it was tolerable, because this sentence above is not true. You will be offered another construction choice even if you didn't finish previous one. I had at most 3 unfinished, because one was small, cube building I forgot location of and one medium dwelling site lacked a terminal. I got still another building choice, and then terminal told me to bring materials for the roof and I was like wtf? who built walls already? Turned out it directed me to the forgotten building first, but the landing pad's site was already available.

Still, as it was my first ever settlement right after Frontiers came, I managed to max it out before devs patched those missing terminals. That's right, you can max out your settlement's stats solely by making enough choices on events. After all, buildings on a settlement can't amount to 1kk produciton, no maintenance cost and 100% happiness, let alone 200 settlers in it.

Can't say a settlement having a volcano in it wouldn't look cool... would be annoyingly loud, but cool.

I believe these terran decorations, like volcanoes or hills, are not removable and are indestructible. You can't even dig within settlement grounds so there's no clever way to get that building out of the hill, like other POIs.

Isn't there like a mod that removes the no-mining restriction? i could just turn it on, ERASE that damn hill then switch it off.

Found none so far in nexus... damnit this is the first time i encounter such a show stopper in this game.

No, instead of dig-anywhere mod, look for destroy-anything mod, because the mountain isn't terrain, not-diggable.

Same happened with my first settlement: half of it was buried in volcano.
I've also seen it on distress beacons: the npc spawned inside indestructible hill (probably volcano, can't remember for sure).

That's a pity, but still tolerable to some extent. People were complaining about their mission targets being obstructed this way. Like go find a (whatever) and the marker is smack in the middle of a volcano or some other bloated, indestructible terrain deco. Now this must suck.

seriously is there nothing that can be done? Even a noclip cheat code…

You do realize that it completely breaks the settlement, right? Even if the first mission weren't there (can't remember if it were), it'd break construction since you can't access the sites. And can't construct more before finishing the old ones.
It's not what I'd call 'tolerable'. Especially when it was my first settlement, and I had no idea that it wasn't meant to be that way. Thought that erupting volcano was part of the 'crisis' until I looked it up.

Holy s**t i didn't know that. You have NO idea what great news you just gave me. I thought my progress in the settlement would be stuck indefinitely. Thank you.

So for anyone that has this problem in the future, what worked for me is to fly out of the planet's atmosphere and back in, it bugged my settlement making it float above the terrain and letting me access the terminal.
