scaling is still there, but I can only access it with mouse and keyboard, which sucks becuae i like using the controller, but no controls to do that with the controller anymore right now it seems.
no snap is there. again, seems only there with mouse and keyboard. it's a toggle. I think you have to hit v or something...
here's what I did:
run steam
unplug controller
go to Steam Big Picture mode
click on settings cog
click on controller setting
un-tick all controllers in list
turn off steam and PC
restart PC
open steam
plug in controller.
Good luck.
The only rotation you can perform in the game (on PC at least) is parts about the Z axis (the vertical axis pointing into the sky). However you can not rotate them about X/Y axes. You can no longer have parts sideways or upside down.
There are no controls available in remap to do this in any building mode. Therefore I think that the capability no longer exists.
IN A "BASE BUILDING" EXPANSION.
And, again, from https://www.nomanssky.com/frontiers-update/, THIS is an outright lie:
You cannot place a part directly in mid-air. There is literally no control that allows you to translate parts X-Y-Z. Without that, they appear on surfaces as usual and there is no "new" place you can place a part.
Additionally, there is no new freedom in placement of parts *on* surfaces. For example, on a very steep hillside, floor parts will be green in some places, red in others. If you could place parts anywhere you want, you'd be able to place them ... anywhere you want.
This stuff is all still supported in save files.
Also: Weren't most glitches resizable before? I'm not sure but I think so?
And also also: You can now indeed build more glitches than you have, as the glitch you're building will continue to repeat even after you're out of glitches in your inventory. I don't know if this is a mistake, but if so, why not just have picking up a glitch learn the pattern, so that you don't need to have glitches in your inventory any more, ever.
Even if there are lots of new parts. The old ones (or ne ones) could be places in a sub menue (with other sub menues).
They just would have to have a look at Eucli-ea mod to see, that it works.
The old building system had a very much easier flow, f.e. colouring objects. Now I have to select every single part again to give it a color, instead of just click on them.
And there are many other annoying changes that reduces building abilities.
Well the only thing that works a bit easier is the wire glitching (old fashion way).
