Damaged ship slots not displaying correct resources
I'm having and issue where a crashed ship I claimed is not displaying the correct resources. For example one broken component will ask for 125 platinum for repair when you hover the cursor over the damaged part. But when you click on it, I'm being asked to use pugneum and paraffinium which also happens to be the same resources to fix the component in the next slot over. But it's happening with multiple 'repair' components.

You go out and collect resources to fix something and then when you try to repair it it asks for something completely different, it's a pretty annoying bug. :steamfacepalm:

@Samain....beside of that bug ..
you know that you only need to repair Launch thrusters and Pulse Engine , so it can take off ?

I've been playing this game since it was first released, so yes I'm well aware of that. I'm currently playing a new save. I don't have my freighter yet but have claimed 4 ships so far that have launch thrusters and pulse engines repaired and ready to go for when I do.

Okay... could not see that from your profile... than its time to report it to HG

Update: The affected repairs that I have noticed so far is:

Fractured Hull 350 chromatic metal to repair - but when you click on it it changes to pugneum that's already repaired and 410 paraffinium.

Shattered Bulwark 150 platinum to repair - same as listed above

This is happening every abandoned ship I have come across so far.

Have tried validating NMS files through steam which finds no issues.

Update 2:

Issue only happens in General Tab. Technology Tab is working correctly.

Broken slots are broken bug.

Wishing it were easier to find Repair Kits.

This is caused because you have TWO or more damaged ships. I know this happens when:
  • you claim one damaged ship
  • you invest some resources in a slot on the damaged ship and do not repair it completely
  • you claim another damaged ship (actually this can happen before the above, all you need for the bug to manifest is at least two damaged ships)
  • you try to repair the slot on the other ship that is on the same grid number, (e.g. fourth slot on the third row) as the one you partially repair on the first ship.

Other than that it seems if you invest some resources on a slot on a damaged ship that has, let's say, 30 slots, then you scrap it without repairing that slot completely, you can get another 30 or more slot ship in the future and see the effect again. Or, if you have some luck, the damaged slot on the ship you'll get will require the same resources, then you'll notice you have only claimed a ship and it already has some resources in 'Repaired' state on some damaged slots for no apparent reason.

This has led me to believe that in NMS there's only ONE grid for repairing any nuber of ships and it is shared between them. There's no 6 separate repair grids and they are not tied to the particular ships.

I of course reported it as a bug.

I can confirm this ! I've encountered the same bug too.

Issue is still present in the experimental release
CR48 Oct 14, 2020 @ 4:11pm
Still present in both, you don't need to have broken ships, even uninstalling and reinstalling technologies trigger this, it seems that Hyperdrives tend to be the ones breaking other technology slots tho

This bug is so annoying... I'm doing the 16/16 mission and I was stranded on a planet and should have needed Di-hydrogen Jelly to fix my launch thrusters. Instead it was 410 paraffinium which was nowhere to be found on the planet.

I really lucked out though. One of those black market traders landed to peddle his wares so I bought his working ship for ~840,000 units and I launched into space. Then I called in my freighter (and my storage with what I needed) and was able to fix my main ship.

I had to build a base on the planet just to keep from burning up. Was collecting resources when the black market goods npc landed. I was like "JOY!!!"... :steamhappy::steamfacepalm::steamhappy::steamsad:
