Ship sudden appearance changed(artemis quest)

me and my friend were playing online doing the main quest(artemis quest) after we first talked to ATLAS and got teleported to random planet my ship's appearance suddenly changed my friends ship,it has all its stats but the appearance is different.
is there anyway to fix this and i noticed this bug has been in the game for about two years and people are losing their ship suddenlt and its STUCKS...
i want my ship back....

I am pretty sure you are not supposed to play the main mission together. In theory, both of your ships would have been on the random planet you were sent to.

So are you saying that he found his ship and it was as expected, and when you went and found your ship it looked like his?

I am not aware of anything that can be done to fix it other than going back to a prior save. Have you tried closing out and restarting the game? It might just be some kind of temporary glitch where the game got confused and used the same seed for both.

I have heard some players say you can do missions together...but this would be an example of why that is not really true.

Our ships spawned right next to each other,i think that caused the problem,i tried restarting the game but that didn't solve the problem
and i also don't have a save that its before the issue.
