Resource Stack Bug - HUGE PROBLEM - 1.37
Reported in bug form too, but making sure folks see this. As of 1.37, if you try to stack resources, you are losing the stacks that you are trying to combine. It only keeps one. This basically keeps you from playing the game, as you will lose resources constantly. I hope they fix this fast!

This was even bigger issue in experimental - when transforming materials from one inventory to another, the materials that did not fit into that inventory, they vanished. No "Inventory full" message.

Right now, the issue seems to affect only large inventories, such as starship inventory and suit cargo. This was in experimental too, but was "funnily" enough missed by HG.

I've also reported this via their bug form.

naw does it in main inventory too. I move from cargo over to my inventory then I try to combine, same thing happens...so it's just in general. But this one makes it basically unplayable at this point :( I can't go around collecting things sincce I cant exactly move or combine them.....

Do we know if they're working on these bugs? I reported via the form, so I assume they are, and I badly want to play this game - but I don't want to waste time gathering resources (which is a good majority of this game), when I'm just going to lose most of them moving around in my inventory.......

Aaaaaah! Same here! I lost a bunch of stuff!

There are ways to move the items in the inventory so you don't get this bug...play around with it so you know when it does and doesn't happen, then reload save.

Do you have an example? Stating that there are ways to avoid it doesn't help without your own examples.

So far, I have not had this problem with Nanites, but everything else seems fair game.

Since 1.37, I've only seen this happen with crafted items. Resources don't seem to be affected.

I don't see this bug, I build a lot of Living Glass and Explosives and stack them from exosuit to starship, I don't lose anything, same with ressources and same with containers, they all work.
Have you guys removed some specific mod related to slots & stacking ?

I haven't had any mods related to that and this started with the changes to the inventory system. And, this does not happen when transferring between inventories using the transfer menu, only when stacking within the inventories.

Easiest way to reproduce:
- Get a 500 stack of iron in your ship and another stack of iron, something like 200 or more (you want to make sure you have enough).
- In space, do a short hyper jump and recharge the engine using the 500 stack of iron.
- Now, stack it with the smaller stack of iron. One of those stacks should now be missing, even though there was clearly enough to be left over.

EDIT:
Or, infact, just stack the 500 iron with the smaller one and see the same result. Don't know why I had to complicate things...

I've never used mods. This was a known bug on 1.36 Experimental. Seems it isn't quite gone.

Hum, that's a nuisance, I already had a suspicion that I lost something after refilling my ship engine in space, but I couldn't explain it. Must be this bug.

You would think that with a bug like this, everyone would be experiencing it. I have not experienced this and I do a ton of resource hauling, stacking, and transferring. Wonder what the prerequisites are for experiencing this bug. Maybe I should remove some mods and see if it happens.

Well, shoot... I disabled all mods and it is MOSTLY gone. It does NOT happen in starship inventory anymore.

However:
If I stack nanites or items in my suit cargo, everything is fine. But, if I stack two stacks (+250) of any material, I'm only left with one 500 stack of it. It does not go to my suit inventory or anywhere else. So, now I have to figure out which mod makes it happen every time, but it is still happening without it for materials in my suit cargo.

EDIT:
This keeps getting weirder. I enabled all mods again, and I cannot make it happen in starship inventory, only suit cargo. Whenever I stack materials TO there, the exceeding amount disappears. It does not matter if I start stacking within the suit cargo or inventory. I can start stacking from my suit inventory, swich to suit cargo (by pressing Q or the cargo icon) and stack the materials there. Stacking nanites from suit inventory to suit cargo also throws away the exceeding nanites, but not when stacking them while doing so inside the suit cargo.

I still cannot understand how I've lost materials inside starship inventory and now I cannot. I was able to do it multiple times (testing) before posting that comment.

Here's a short video I posted to Youtube:
https://youtu.be/akKvlrVuSPo

Recorded with mods DISABLED. For whatever reason, I was again able to get it happen in starship inventory. My guess is that it has something to do with the amount in each stack. The video does not show the nanite stacking issue when stacking from suit inventory to suit cargo but you should get the point (stacking within cargo seems fine). I'm done troubleshooting.

from my experience, if you manualy put one stack on another, the bug happens and you loose stuff. If you just put things into the other inventroy without specifying, they will stack normally.
