Awakenings quest broken?

So I'm working on the main "Awakenings" quest, warp into a new system and it tells me to follow this guide to a fuel source. (I have already learned how to craft warp cells and antimatter)

When I get to the marker it's Vy'keen Monolith called Ashes of the Rufogr... So I talk to it, answering the questions (if that's what they could be called) and everything seems ok..

Then I get to the question "Has it seen the crimson eye, Has the crimson eye seen it" and my answers are "It has seen the eye" - "The eye has seen it" and "both" ...

So I picked "It has seen the crimson eye" first.. got a "warning, warning, breach detected. find us traveler" message... and the quest doesn't progress. The marker still leads to the structure and when I talk to it again it just repeats the last question.

I've tried all 3 answers, all give the same warning message as a result, and the quest doesn't progress??? Am I just screwed here? I just spent like 10-15 min googling for an answer with no luck.

Check the quest, if your task has been updated. The reaction to the answers are normal. You should just warp to one or two other systems and the quest should progress automatically.

Do the thing, the quest tells you to do in the bottom right, after you've selected it in the log-window.

make sure you have the quest selected as your active quest in the "Log".

other than that i got nothing. Someone in HG seriously screwed up by making all the quests "increase X value by Y amount" and didnt consider than 90% of the people playing already had X maxed so cant increase it at all.

Not sure if it's the same quest, but I've seen others who couldn't advance a quest because they didn't have an inventory slot free. You could try the dialogue again after making sure you have space left over in your suit.

It's supposed to give you a bit of warp fuel iirc, make sure you have a slot free in your exosuit

Thanks for the replies, It was just a bugged quest.

I talked to the monolith, but never got any "fuel" or found any "fuel source". (I never got anything at all actually)

The quest stayed on "find the fuel source" and the marker never moved, but when I finally decided to warp to another system (for which I had to craft my own fuel, not sure why I had to find a fuel source after being shown how to craft fuel?) It finally updated.

So the quest is just broken in that it doesn't update to "continue your search for answers" after you talk to the monolith. I figure it's gotta be something they already plan on fixing since the quest itself (having to find a fuel source after being shown how to make fuel - then not even getting any fuel when you find the source) is entirely pointless.

Can what? Start over? That should never, ever be the required solution, especially in a game like this.

This game has been out for a year, and some people have that much time invested in their current saves. While it may have been released in what seemed like an early-access state, it was sold as a finished product.

I'm not trying to harp on you or your comment - it's just that there seems to be this trend here lately towards criticizing people who aren't willing to start over, a "solution" which should absolutely not be required.

It isn't bugged. You need an open slot in your exosuit. That's what got me.

Just had the same bug, freeing up a slot worked.

i Have issue with this Q "Awakenings" i get the engine get 19% fuel but i can't Warp enywhere Yellow blue green red nothing. I open the map select the Yellow planet near to me click LPM nad then nothing hapen..... In Q i have to do the Warp to enather solar but i can't xd

I had to use the gamepad to operate the galaxy map. Mouse and keyboard controls were absolutely useless.

I currently have this issue, it says quest objective is in another system and says is it 679,157 light years away, i have spent the last 6 hours warping around trying to get there.... Now i cant even find my home system, also that is farther than the galactic center
