Living Ship quest won't update coordinates
I'm on the Starbirth: Flesh on Metal Bones quest of the Living Ship line and the imprecise coordinates I'm given in the first step after landing on the correct planet do not update, even when I arrive at them. They just say +19.??? -15.??? or whatever, even after I reach those coordinates. When this first happened, I happened to find the big circle building and activated it, but I didn't get a blueprint or any instructions, just some random dialogue. Then nothing. I read that going through a black hole can reset the quest step, so I tried that, but then the same thing happened. I got galaxy coordinates to a new system, went there, found the appropriate planet and then the coordinates wouldn't resolve when I got close. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas how I can fix it?

If the coordinates don't change to become more specific, you're not at the correct location. The boundary failures you interacted with were not the right ones. Try moving around between +19.000 -15.000 and +19.999 -15.999.

PS: The dialogue isn't random, it's part of the lore.

I've wandered all over the place within the numbers; nothing updates. In the previous steps the coordinates would update as soon as I got anywhere within the numbers to the left of the decimal. That's not happening now.

Try resetting the quest again.

I wonder if it has something to do with online discovery services being down...?

Doubtful.

welp, i went through another black hole and tried it again, and this time it ended up working. the weird thing was that once i crafted the components, it sent me back to the original boundary failure building i went to when i first tried the quest, not to the one that actually ended up working.

anyway i guess the lesson to anyone else with this problem is keep jumping through black holes until the quest works...

I think the issue is that the square is just too big for us to get close enough for the coordinates to resolve.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I had this glitch too, on this exact same stage of Starbirth. There were three boundary failures near the area it was telling me to go to, but it refused to update and none of those triggered the quest. I used a black hole and on a new planet, it did update correctly. As Slam said above, I had to go back to the original planet after building the glass thing, and it ended up making me use of of the boundary failures I had found and used before. So definitely a glitch, but thanks for the advice that a black hole could kind of reset it and let me advance.
