Main Ship disappeared after adding new damaged ship to collection.

So I loaded up my 80hour save game yesterday and started playing the update. All was well until I found a destroyed ship that could be repaired. I went into the UI to claim it.

The message read, "Would you like to claim this ship and add it to your collection?" I said yes, as I figured it would just be added to my freighter.

I saved the game and logged off. I come back today to the save and my original ship has disappeared (even though it was parked right next to the broken ship when I saved) and I am stuck on a planet with no access to the reources I need to fix the heavily damage ship.

As far as I am concerned I now have a useless 80 hour save game due to the save not saving the state of my other ship that I intended to use.

Any help fixing this would be great.

Bump. I claimed a damage ship last night to fix it up and now my other ships have disappeared.

Yeah I just posted another topic with proper repro steps and a warning for other players. I got back to my freighter and everything. My ship wasn;t in my collection. So I lost my huge ship and its entire invetory. Insane bug to be in the game.

So I tried warping my freighter thinking it would reload the freighter deck and sure enough my ships reappeared. It's still a bug that shouldn't be in the game but at least I was able to get my ships back.

If I understand the situations correctly, you both claimed new, broken ships from Distress Signals, yes? If so, then in the 'x' button function, you will be able to summon your old ship to you on a planet with room to land!

For future reference, any time you claim a new ship, it becomes your default. Reenter your first ship again and it will switch back to being the default. Wonky system, but clear enough once you claim a few ships and get used to it!

same problem if you add ship to collection, I land on freighter "oh no where's my shiny new
exotic I've just blown 8 million on. work around, re-load game and ship will be waiting for you

This exact thing happened to me. I have been running around everywhere in an attempt to summon my main ship, but the message keeps stating my ship can't land here. Any suggestions for me?

None of these have worked for me. I have tried summoning my old ship. When I added the new ship it wouldnt let me go back into my other. Tried summoning my freighter and that did nothing and also reloaded from my freighter and outside of it as well. and jumped a system to see if it would reload. I had a fully upgraded ship with lots of space and cargo just disappear.

I'm in the same situation. I had played a while back and half expected the ship I was leaving to teleport to my freighter while I repaired the nicer, but seriously damaged crashed ship. No dice. Original ship is just gone. If I try to summon it I just get a beep - as if, and because? - I only seem to have one ship. Which till take a couple hours of resource mining before it's restored...

Also just had my salvaged secondary ship disappear from my base... I hope they fix this as I want to become a collector and not being able to would be so sad.

Thanks for the tip. I was about to restore to an earlier save point. Extra bonus, I don't have to build a mini base on the planet just to repair the new ship.

Then you have proverbially, in the words of Chuck Yeager and others, 'screwed the pooch'.

Unless you have a carrier, always, always, always ensure you have fuel whenever/wherever you go.
