On the otherhand I think I've found a somewhat small solution to the ground regenerating at my base. I built my whole new base underground with a large tunnel leading to it and I noticed that when the terrain regenerated for the first time yesterday that the tunnel remained all intact except for a few small things I removed with the terrain manipulator. So I rebuilt my base knowing how I did the tunnel and it hasn't regenerated at all since and I don't believe it will just like the tunnel didnt.
The way I did it was basically use the Large Square Room to clear a large square area by placing a bunch of them and using the corridors to put them right next to each other as well as stacking one on top then deleting them all leaving a large empty square to build in.
Making a perfect clear square this way seems to prevent the regenerating for some reason as i've had my old base regenerate over since this has been completed and since doing this my new underground base is totally fine =)
Didn't work for me. Very annoying, as basically this means I can't even continue with building my base. Hopefully this is a bug and NOT a new "feature". I'd hate to be relegated to only building bases on stilts/foundations.
Is your save originally from an older version? The save i'm on was started after Next released, and i'm also on single player not multi, so either of those could be the cause.
I saw in the 1.55 patch note it says
"Fixed an issue where terrain edits caused by building parts would regenerate in multiplayer"
and I know when they say they fixed a bug its usually not fixed for most people still so it may be a multiplayer only bug =/
