In fact while having the Leap mission active and trying to "activate the portal" note it activates itself for the quest without actual glyph address input, BUT it has actually sent me to the weekly mission planet. It's a conflict and that conflict crashes the game.
Hope this makes sense.
In before "Do you have any mods installed?" (No I don't, it does the same things with and without mods installed but I have them out for now just because.)
I usually get responses (automated) within 2 days. But I'm sure they are classifying important stuff...
I did it too long ago, so my memory fails for 16...mission, but if you would repeat it, you get the same portal? There can be more portals in a system, and if you go through a black hole you should be able to reset the mission in the log IIRC.
Thanks for the reminder on the auto responder, couldn't remember how fast it replies. I will wait~
I think you should read here, there's a mentioned workaround in the forelast page. I hope it works for you.

I forgot to update this, or well I did parially above in my last post.
I did go to a different system and did the event, and got it to select a different portal than the one I used for the community event, however it still goes from the 16 16 16 white screen to crashing every time. (Tried it dozens of times so far.) I can try it a few more times I guess, but not sure that doing it after the first few attempts over many days will change the outcome. I did read the thread you linked and thus got the idea to go to two different systems and seperate the missions and portals, but to no avail so far. I have even tried it again after the last few updates.
My only question is how the OP of that thread got his Leap in the Dark portal sequence to work properly. Again, all stuffs updated, file integrity checked, caches cleared and no mods used.
I don't even lag during zone in at community event portals, so no potato rig issues there. I am at a complete loss of how to "force" it to do it's proper sequence. (And I am a Technical Specialist by trade.)
I guess I try a few more times and wait for a response on my ticket. I would think that a mission breaker/game stopper and a long time issue like that one...would have a fix patch soon.
Anywho, thanks for attempting to trouble-shoot it (several times.) Even though it's not working, it's still appreciated. :) I hope to get a Zendesk response soon. After playing almost 900 hours, it feels like one of my favorite toys is irreparably broken. ; ; Hanging in there~
One other thought I had about things to try, do you think going through a black hole will somehow trigger or reset the Leap mission? I have not tried that yet. Will have to try it in the morning. I do remember black holes at one time had a quest location retarget or reset option if you were too far away from the initial target. Will def try it tomorrow just to rule that
work-around out.
Yes absolutely, as I mentioned above already, try this, AFAIK all missions get reset and their waypoints shuffled again when you go through a BH. In the Log you will be asked to reset the mission with some red entries in the description.
Reference:
In early versions of Atlas Rises there was no such options to reset a mission, so when you did the storyline and went through a black hole, the storyline got broke. This has been corrected later and should still apply. I have seen such a reset option for a normal mission in the Log in 1.57 and made use of it (it was a simple delivery mission only, not a storyline mission.)
But for Storyline missions currently, their locations are placed on the top of your teleporter, so maybe because of that you cannot reset the mission (because the game assumes you are teleporting there), and thus not solving your specific situation :(
Try it anyway to see if you get the reset option.
