portal broken - cant charge or dial

i started the game, was at a trade station on my home world. noticed my ship was different, was another one from my freighter, thought that was a bit weird.
flew over to my portal and it was spinning blue like usual
when i approached it though it asked about charging it up like it was the first time i had used it.
annoying as that was, i couldnt even charge it. the dialogue opened, but the portal symbols werent there and there was no option to charge. the USE key didnt interact.
i tried leaving my planet from the base teleporter and going elsewhere then returning.
then tried going to another planet, finding a portal, and dialing into my home planet.
i could travel there fine. once back at the other portal, i shut it down.
i then warped via ship back to home world and went to the portal.
its shut down, as in not spinning, but i still get the same thing, asking me to charge it up but with no option to do so. also, my ship changed again to another ship after passing thru the portal on the other planet.
i dont want to leave this world and find a new one but if for some reason i cant get the portal working i wont have a choice.
tired quitting the game and restarting.
im also affraid this might happen if i did change to a new world again now, and my ship might keep switching randomly to another one from my frieghter.
im not using any mods.

any thoughts, help ?

EDIT - so i loaded another old game, same mode, and it was working fine.
loaded the problem game, and it seemed to be ok again, although i did have to charge the portal like a first time user.
once done, all seemed ok. travelled to another planet etc.
went off im my ship to another system via warp, and now im back, its doing it again, saying charge me up, but no option do do so!

EDIT 2 - i changed planets, claimed a new base, new home planet portal seemed to work fine first time, then when i came back a second time, same problem. portal is active but wants me to charge it like its the first time using it, but there is no option to charge , the glyph icons dont appear.

Could I edit a game file somehow to fix this ?

I have also tried claiming a new base on my new home world , and then a new base on another planet in the system.
I’ve tried solving monolith puzzles and rediscovering the portal once I had shut it down by dialling in from another portal in another system. Seems everything I try it ends up same way, portal thinks it needs to be charged like it’s the first time using it but the glyph icons don’t appear when I open the portal dial action, just the squares underneath as like in the pic I posted .

Just started having the same broken portal issue. Uncharged, but will not let me charge the glyphs. Moved my base because it was only 2 minutes away...now apparently useless. From the reddit link provided, it appears the only "fix" is to move to a new planet and hope that portal remains working.

Oh well, got several trips out of it before it went kaput. I was wondering if there is a counter on portals, so they go bad after so many trips.

i moved planet, worked first time, then broken on new home world.
surely this will be fixed in the next update

Edit: I went back to check out my portal. It still will take me to the last portal address I put in before it needed recharge. So it technically works, just one location only. Not sure if this is helpful but the message ball I left at the other portal location is still there but it will not let me delete it. That may be standard but I never tried to delete a message ball when I was checking out other locations. I was hoping maybe deleting it that would clear the glitch.

It feels like my portal is stuck more than broken. Did anyone else have the same situation when the portal started malfunctioning?

I put in a support request back when I first left my original message. May send an update with the new information.

i shut my portal down remotely from another planet that i dialed into it from so now its just sitting there idle and broken, unable to be charged.

i went to a new system and found a portal, worked a few times then broke,
went to another system, found a portal, worked once and broke.
whatever the fault is, it seems to be with any portal u find, not just the original one that breaks.
so i could keep going to new places and finding portals to use until the break, seeing how many uses i can get out of them but it seems a random number at this point.

Did you have any issues around the time of the first portal going bad? I got stuck in the floor of the portal on my return a few times. You just fall into floor and are stuck, jiggling. Nothing I could do would free me.

I always save before a portal trip...just in case, and reverted back to the previous save the first time I got stuck. Second time was not really thinking, and just exited the game. Could be unrelated to the portal issue, but I may have created an unintended feedback loop, where it is expecting me to return from that trip.

Still works as a single location portal. Went back to the planet today. Silver lining is I found an S Class 24 slot weapon so not a complete waste of time.

On a side note, the portal still works for visitors. Got a new message cube at the base.

First time I noticed anything weird I was at a trade platform rapidly loading and reloading trying to get an exotic ship to spawn. On one reload I noticed my ship had changed from another one from my freighter. Not long after that I went to the portal and that’s when it started.
The portal on that planet was a bit weird though in that coming back thru I would get kinda stuck in the ground like u mentioned, I would jet pack a bit to get unstuck.
I had also noticed a while back, not too sure when, some of my hydro bays in my freighter farm where showing weird displays but they keep making plants so I Don’t want to delete them And replace them in case I can’t make new ones or it stuffs up some of the other ones

weirdly now i have found a planet with a portal that seems to keep working, but each time i have to charge it up like its the first time using it.

NEXT awakening? My broken portal now has three icons indicating it needs repais in the area where you would charge the glyphs. Still won't let me do anything but this is a new thing. Maybe after Tuesday it will be repairable.

thanks, i hope its fixed, or at least broken ones just need to be recharged then its all good!
