Falling through floor on a freighter

Yup, still a thing. Sometimes you fall through the floor on a freighter still. There are even small invisible walls that you have to jump over in the corridors sometimes. Also, when you land or exit from the bay in your ship, you clearly are ramming through the freighter and not through the bay doors.

After I left command station ( fleet debriefing) game spawned my character outside the freighter. I was able to walk around untill I decided to jump in the ship-pulling beam hoping it will draw me inside. Nope. You just fall of and take damage from... whatever :D Can't grab the grave tombstone with all belongings.

Have the issue of being teleported over the ceiling sometimes after an interaction with command station or vaults

What makes this worse is that these issues have existed since they 1st added freighters to the game.

I had this same issue.. Started having difficulty entering one of my command rooms.. like something invisible was slightly blocking my entrance.. jumping through the threshold allowed me in.. then after I talked to the frigate captain I immediately found myself above that room.. I could see pretty much my whole freighter but I was above it.. like walking on the ceiling..

Finally I stepped into one of the areas where the ceiling 'wasn't'.. and I fell through the world and died.. Then upon returning to my freighter.. I could see my grave marker floating right outside my freighters ship landing zone and as soon as my ship passed it.. it tried to suck into my ships inventory but it was full and I LOST ALL MY STUFF... ARGH.. then upon landing inside my freighter I exited my ship and immediately fell through the freighter and world again..

The way I resolved the problem was I summoned my freighter to another spot and then I could land on it.. anyway.. this is still beta right? So I'll forgive.. not like anything is hard to get back.. Oh wait.. this isn't beta.. it's actually 2.0!!! ...... DAMN.. (kidding).. I got most my stuff back that I remembered was in my inventory.

over a year later, still the same issues. falling through freighter randomly, making it a horrible base replacement or just place to be in.

this issue is worse if you attach non freighter parts into your base. They took MOST of that away, but a few things like straight corridors remain, and you can stuff a solid wall (eg wood) into a room to split it up a little

Yup, still a thing. I just fell through my freighter floor on the bridge. I was noticing lots of invisible walls the past couple of visits...basically, since I warped into the system. Didn't think it was a problem, until I got stuck behind one on the bridge. I hit my jetpack to try to clear the barrier (like I was doing for the other barriers), and I guess I "missed" the floor. I jetpacked the crap out of it trying to get back up to the deck level, but... well... I guess empty space is too much for the exosuit to handle. :-/ The suckiest part is that I was 35 hours into a Permadeath game. OUCH.

Hello Games, please, please fix this. For me, dying in permadeath mode after that much play time makes me want to put the game down and not pick it up for a while.

still falling threw the freighter here in 2021.... this would be an ok game but the bugs are making it unplayable for me.

Fell through the floor in the hanger last night. Luckily, I was near a planet and had lots of O2 in my inventory, so I topped off my life support all the way to the ground and then jet packed to keep from going splat and I was fine. Otherwise, that would have sucked. Going to keep lots of O2 in my inventory when in my “freighter” from now on and make sure my freighter is in orbit near a planet at all times.

Still happening in 2022 as well. I'll just reload the save, but damn that's a lot of work lost.

I did the same and it's happening more often. I exit my ship and immediately fall through the floor of the freighter. When I reload the autosave, it reloads me to where I am falling outside of my freighter. Unable to die, unable to get back inside. Have to reload from a manual save.

08/11/22 Just happened to me. 260+ hours in permadeath and fell through my freighter floor when I got out of my ship. Reloading only puts me back falling underneath my freighter. Invisible walls prevent me from moving from under the bay area. I would really hate to delete this save since it has legacy building part recipes. Anyone have a fix?

08/13/22 Update:
Posting this so everyone else can have a fix for this problem.
I never got a response from Hello Games after linking them my file so I had to come up with fix. After consulting with a couple of my friends the only fix was to download the NMS save editor program. I ended up changing my freighter to a tiny freighter, which when I logged back in I was in outer space(dying might I add). My space ship was floating next to me so I got in and went to the space station and then teleported to one of my bases to save. I then logged out and set my capital ship seed code in the freighter description to get my freighter back. If you are going to do this I would write down the freighter seed code before changing to tiny. Hope this helps anyone that ends up having the same problem.

2024, I just fell through my freighter and came online to see if there was a known bug/fix... not encouraging!

This is a very old thread and a fix was added a long time ago. If you start to fall through the floor, or get glitched, or whatever inside a freighter, go to your Options/General tab and select Reset Position In Freighter which will place you on the bridge.

Says it was fixed yet it still happens...lol and the "Reset Option"? Why have a reset option if it was truly fixed?
