1. Go into map.
2. Use Q/E to select path to the Galactic Core.
3. DO NOT right click!
4. Wait a few seconds and the GC should be automatically selected and your ship should warp to the next galaxy.
5. If that doesn't work the first time come out of the map, then re-try.
Hope that helps.
thanks guy, this one worked!!
Finally...
Its not a bug, but a really stupid game mechanic. There doesn't seem to be any logic behind it. Maybe it is a mechanic designed for console.
Here is what works for me.
1: Follow the Galactic Path to the final system. It should have a gold line to the centre. It needs to be this system.
2: Have your Cadmium, Emeril and Indium drives installed
3: Warp fuel needs to be 100%
4: Select the system you are in from the galactic map.
5: Rotate the mouse until you see a yellow indicator rotating around the system.
6: Bring the yellow indicator over the gold path linking the system to the centre, and hold left mouse down until a circle appears.
This opens the warp option to the core. Here is a link to a video I made showing the process. Hope it helps.

Please note: the last but one response was correct at the time of writing. What you describe has only been the case for about three months.
That said, having an actual recording of the event can only be helpful from this point onward.
Everyone! Look! Little yellow thing!

This is a glitch caused by some mods, remove cache files in the save folder (and remove mod obviously.)
The key to move to core is: You must not just hit LM button, but keep the button pressed. This is new, and the discussion above is outdated .
It is NO GLITCH, it is the 16 System, at the Center, you have to play a bit more .....

P.S I HAVE NEVER RUN MODS IN THIS GAME ....
I've never seen a '16 system', the closest you get to the core in Euklid or elsewhere will still show you 2-3 adjacent systems, the map is never blank like in your pic, I don't know which game you play, must be a custom or cracked NMS :)
Only 1 among the closest systems to the core will qualify for the galaxy change, doesn't matter how close you are, you need to be in the right one and see a line to the core. Then keep pressed LM button. No bugs, no nothing.
If you notice the name of player who discovered it, I read something he talked about in 1, I just trawled the Posts for all their posts, and followed the clues to planet where I found the last bit ... (Right on edge of core, and the Planet I orginally jumped to Eissentam from, later I returned cause I had found i missed something)
P.S.S I don't run MODS ... IT IS a PLAIN Jane, No Man's Sky install, the only difference would/may be, I run it on Linux .. (Windows is dead to me)
I will friend you take you there for a visit, if you are not scared of the unknown, that is ...(but spoils the fun ..), However I should point out a Friend actually put the final piece of this puzzle together for me, so not just by myself ..
The name has been changed by a player who discovered it, it's in your pic. Strange, I will take a look next time I pass Euklid...Never noticed this. But then: Discoveries uploads in GoG may not be the same than in Steam, I will go by the planet look to identify the system.
