Game is stuck in a loop at Preparing to launch...

Need had this issue when I last tried the game but, for whatever reason, No Man's Sky refused to load. The Preparing to launch window would pop up for a few seconds then disappear and reappear. This continued for 20 minutes, which is long as I had the patience to wait. Revalidating the cache reported no errors. All other Steam games load fine.

Sure enough, setting Steam to Run as Administrator worked and the game loads fine. The only issue is that Steam apparently warns me that there are issues running it this way so the logical thing to do would be to set the NMS executable itself to run as admin, right?

Wrong! Seems that the game is already set to Run as Administrator and that this does not prevent the load loop bug. Only setting Steam to run as administrator works.

Why is this the only game that works like this? Anyone else come across this issue?
