The game crashes every 5-10 min
Hi All
What a great game but my crashes all the time. I have tried alot of stuff but in the end I really just think the game on my platform: ryzen 9 and rtx 4070 is close to unplayable for more than 10 min.

Will the game ever be fixed?

Verify your files, turn off the other 75 programs you have running and all overlays, update your drivers, turn off and leave off MP, restart compy. I have a 4070 and run everything on ultra and might have a dc once a week or two unless am doing derelicts and those I can only run when game is freshly booted or I get das boot. Good luck. Game is fine. Issue is your rig.

playable on my i5 with gtx710...
you'll need to be a bit more specific about your particular issue if you'd like some help... unless it's just a vent in which case sorry... carry on

Verify your files: done many times
all overlays gone
no mods
Nvida driver 566.36 and click the optimze button for best setting NMS
NMS is also updated
what is MP? multiplayer? I only play single player
I have tried standard and ultra with no motion blur and with
win11

Glad to hear that might just be my setup because then I can fix it.... maybe?

I think its a framerate issue, if you increased/decreased the framerate limiter I would set it to 60 and V-Sync off.

I had this issue as well my settings had the max framerate set to 144 @ 3840 x 2160 which is the default for my monitor, even though my framerate stayed around 60-65 anyway, lowering the max frames to the game's default 60 stopped me from crashing every 10-15 minutes.

@LeoNeon thank you for the reply. I have set max fps to 60 and V-sync is set to off in the option menu under display. And the game still crashes sadly it did not help on my setup

The games crashes and gives me a popup with:
134078_0x152226F_ST76561199805997398

There are some warning for the NVIDIA OenGL Driver:
DrvSetContext failed functionality indeterminant
(pid=3052 cncmd.exe 64bit)
DrvSetContext failed functionality indeterminant
(pid=13452 cncmd.exe 64bit)
DrvSetContext failed functionality indeterminant
(pid=19324 cncmd.exe 64bit)

So it is maybe linked to the OpenGL driver???

NMS does not use OpenGL .. Vulcan is in use

Could you post the content of your TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML (just open it with notepad and copy&paste it)
That file is in \steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\Settings

Will it help to install Vulkan?

Looks all ok

I would go for a clean GPU driver update
Nvidia: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/drivers/

At the installation choose custom

GeForce Game Ready Driver
GeForce Game Ready Driver - WHQL
Driver Version: 566.36 - Release Date: 2024 December 5

it is the same version as the one I have on my system

Should I first uninstall that?
