Mac Performance Issues?
Hey I just loaded NMS for the first time on my Mac.

My iMac Specs are:
3.6 GHz 10-Core Intel Core i9
AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16 GB
32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

.. all settings at their lowest, resolution low and it runs about 10fps. Is there some settings I should be using to get the game even remotely running?

Whatever that latest patch was helped a little. Runs smooth if i'm looking directly at the sky, otherwise its still really bad FPS. Still completely unplayable sadly.
Hey. Just curious, what is the current state of the game's performance on your mac?
I'm playing on M1 Air 16GB RAM at low-medium settings at 27-45 fps (65 in space, planets not visible).

I get the impression that NMS just isn't developed with Intel Macs in mind. All Mac complaints on this forum are from Intel Mac owners. Runs fine on M1, I tried myself, it's adequately playable on first gen M1 Mini. But it seems Intel Mac owners got screwed up on this deal.

Tezamondo, your system should run NMS decently under Windows. Can you do Bootcamp or you just don't want to deal with that? I understand that having a native macOS game is nicer.

Yeah it still runs pretty bad. I was just genuinely excited for it on Mac and because my iMac is pretty well specced i assumed it would be fine. Most of the stuff i've read does seem to be fine on Apple Silicone- lol i'm just a little sad because I do honestly love NMS and was looking forward to playing it native.

I think bootcamp's windows will run it better than MacOS. Haven't tested myself but still.

A big reason why I was excited for a Mac native build is literally because I don't want to partition my ssd and install a whole new OS just to play it

Well, that's understandable.

You know, game came out trash and became great after lots of updates. So maybe it's performance will become better for intel macs in future? Idk...
