Game is not launching anymore.
When launching from Steam, game runs for about 5 seconds and closes itself. While launching the .exe file itself from in-game files reports 2 errors:
The procedure entry point SetThreadDescription could not be located in dynamic link library No Man's Sky\Binaries\sl.interposer.dll
The procedure entry point SetThreadDescription could not be located in dynamic link library No Man's Sky\Binaries\NMS.exe
I already tried repairing, verifying and reinstalling 2010/2013/2022 C++ Visuals, the game itself, closed any possible overlays... nothing works. For some reason I can't also find any NMS dump files from the crash.

There should be a crash dump file
If you can upload your crash dunp file into a cloud, with permission to download it, I´ll look into it
it should be in :
WinKey + R opens RUN than copy this: %localappdata%\Temp

and looks like :
NMS_crash_xxxxxxxxxx_NMSVersion_0xCrashcode_SteamID.dmp

You may also try a clean boot :

Opened the location and searched for crash dump of NMS, but it doesn't exist for some reason.

Next step would be the clean boot

Yesterday a patch installed for NMS and the interposer.dll error disappeared (NMS.exe was the only one showing), but I've just checked now and it's here again.

Can I exclude all Microsoft services and my antivirus from the disabling?

Edit :
You should follow the description .. which means Hide Microsoft from the list, which means dont disable it.
I would also not disable Steam...
But if yo have an Antivir App .. disable it , too . Because that can make trouble in some cases..

Alr, I'll disable it if it doesn't change anything. Going to try it in a few minutes.

Nope. Didn't work.
Musashi Oct 30, 2024 @ 12:45am
hmm.. maybe that file has been written ?
Could you post the content of your TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML (just open it with notepad and copy&paste it)
That file is in \steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries\Settings
