Worlds Part I, Mac M3 Max
Hi.

The World Part I is a wonderful surprise. I tried it out with a Mac, but it did not look anything like the PC version advertised in the videos.

Are the visual enhancements (water, clouds, shadows) meant to work on Silicon Apple Mac? I have compared the same game save on Windows NVidia 2070TI, 64GB, and Mac M3 Max, 128GB, both on the ultra settings. The Apple version of the game runs with far better performance than the PC version but with significantly degraded graphics (no new water or cloud rendering; everything looks a bit washed out). Is the Apple version of the game meant to be less graphical fancy than the PC version?

Something very strange is going on with the Mac version.

I've seen people reporting that their game barely runs, or is locked to a tiny resolution. On my M2 Pro mini, reflections are broken and must be disabled to avoid graphical errors:

The game runs like butter on maximum settings and 1440p, but draw distance is pathetic, pop-in is distractingly bad, and it doesn't seem that we got most of the lighting and effects improvements promised by this patch.

I'd accept if Hello Games communicated that the Mac version is a work in progress, but to my knowledge they haven't even addressed how the game is broken for some users.

Extremely disappointed.
