What are the current hardware recommendations for No Man's Sky for SteamVR?
FYI, for me, the default was "Auto". When I toggled it to custom, it was "125%".
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER
I was having the same issue with my quest 3 hardwired . First crash after update was after flying through galaxy load screen and then after that it wouldn't even load and would crash with a steam vr error message. I eventually used the steam link app. which loaded the game and i could play but super stuttery. I realized that it had set my graphics options to dlss dlaa which has caused me nothing but problems. I changed it to dlss quality . I was able to go back to launching it from steam vr and playing like usual. I only used the steam link to get into the game to change my graphic settings. hope this helps someone.
also make sure graphics settings aren't too high. I'm on a 4070ti and set everything to enhanced but keep textures on high for super smooth experience for comparison.
edit: oh also make sure you turn off steamHome or disable starting it up. Steamvr and steamhome are two different things. You don't need steamHome going. its just another app on top of another app.
32GB ram
nvidia 4070 ti super
HTC Vive Cosmos Elite
2 displays 1080p
Set maximum performance on driver settings
It runs well only if I disable the second display, with both displays it stutters like hell
BTW sometimes the game crashes with 100% usage of CPU and GPU when entering/exiting planets.
PS: I'm aware of the voltage problems with the i9 13/14 series, I installed the latest bios available with a microcode patch waiting for the intel's official one, but that doesn't seem to affect the game, I had the same problem before.
EDIT: it seem a problem with the VIVE console, it should be fixed with the next patch release
i would recommend to use Virtual Desktop for playing PCVR, since it allows better settings and performance. I have similar specs on my PC system and you can check out my settings using Virtual Desktop and a test recording here:
