- same on new plantes in new systems.
- same on lower graphics settings (Ultra -> High)
Also at the edge of the screen I can see objects unloading.
I mean I don't care if old planets look different as they used to look or any of the other complains people have with 5.0 as long as the basic loading of assets works like it is meant work before the update a downgrade like this in a 8 year old game running on a mid-tier maschine from last year, is unacceptable and QA/QM should have seen this, if they had done their job correctly.
A performance patch is hopefully in the works 🤞
I've definitely noticed this as well - For example; @ 3440x1440 (90 fov) the delayed objects un/loading at edges of screen are very noticeable.

But this is a downgrade as well.
The 5.0 overall feels like a beta/prerelease version rather then an actual update
Your hypothesis on fov vs., or in contrast to - a bound or predetermined width is intriguing.
Maybe a temporary bandaid fix or quick test is a fov experiment.
We are all hopeful that these things get ironed out soon.
But others also have crashed even more then I am, so I guess that will be fixed soon™
