Crash on Mac after OS 15 update
Hello, the game was running great on MacBook Pro M1 until I updated the OS to 15.0 beta 24A5309e. Now the game crashes before any loading screen. I uninstalled the game and deleted all library / application files, reinstalled and it's still happening.

The game no longer launches for me either. There are no entries in the log file.

Well this is disappointing to read in the middle of my uninstall/reinstall. :)

Like t3rrorClown says, i can't find anything in the logs. From the looks of it, Steam thinks the game is just exiting, it's checking to make sure the cloud stuff is in sync. The stream in the Console doesn't seem to have any details, it's like the app just stops. I'll try again once I get everything re-installed.

Same for me! Have you gotten it to launch yet?

Thought I'd pile onto this, I'm having the same issue with other games. I thought it was the game files at first as some games do still load. After uninstalling/reinstalling literally everything (including wiping my Mac and clearing the disk) I figured it must be a sequoia beta issue :(

on the plus side I finally cleared about 50gb of unwanted crap from my storage but hoping a patch is released soon

Oh, interesting that it's other games too, i hadn't had time to try anything besides FTL just to confirm it wasn't every game. I wonder if it's a difference between native ARM and Rosetta games.

well I replaced the battery on my macbook pro and now everything works. I've read that a faulty battery controller chip causes all kinds of strange problems

I updated to the latest beta today and NMS launched, so I guess there was something wrong with that last beta version.

Can you elaborate on this?

you need to get your error type first.
go to your path to SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/No Man's Sky/No Man's Sky.app
and right click it to choose show contents, and go into Contents/MacOS/No Man's Sky (a unix file)
then right click it , open , then a terminal will appear, get the output information to make sure what the error type is.

I'm having this issue again, i downgraded to Sonoma and it was ok, still crashed every second boot of the game and by crash i mean my whole system would reboot... i had to updated to Sequoia for other software and now i have the same issue, the game starts, i see Hello Games and then the whole system crashes, i have tried the steam_appid.txt file approach but i must be doing something wrong, when i add the file and launch the game it says the app is damaged and say's for me to move it to the trash... any help would be amazing!
