coop not working

I am unable to join my friends game and he is unable to join mine, it says connecting for a second then nothing, pressing join again says failed to join lobby, then a few moments later his name will disappear of the available sessions list for a minuets and return.

We have tried:
-Wired and and wireless connection,
-Fixing game files,
-Reinstalling the game,
-Starting a new save in the latest updates,
-We have tried two weeks in a row,
-We added each other as NMS friends as a desperate attempt.

we have had it working in the past as 4 weeks ago we started a new play though and played for 3 hours no problems.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I am in the same boat with my boyfriend. In the past we could play together but my game would crash after a few minutes, or whenever I would get close to him. Now we just cannot play together anymore. He sees other people, but I see nobody even tho my multiplayer is enabled...

Someone in another thread posted this and it worked for me after days of anguish. Go to No Mans Sky Folder > Binaries > Settings > delete the 3 .MXML files.

Amazing! I don't know how or why this works, but it did.
I've been struggling to play together for over a week and tried nearly every option found online. We were starting to think it was due to the particular wifi we have, and being in the same house. So glad to finally have a solution, you rock Demirant.

it fixed for like 1 hour, but then the next day we tried again and it just joins for like 10 seconds the instance of the other person but then one of us gets kicked out of the server, (not out of game) the group just gets disbanded and we don't see each other.

FINALLY after trying so many different things on the web over the course of several days, what fixed the issue was rebooting my router, who h was suggested nowhere. My friend and I are on the same network, so rebooting it gave both our platforms a kick in the rear

I regret to inform that the issue came back the next day and I haven't gotten this to work since. It seems no matter what I try, it's just an issue with the game and/or my PC and any troubleshooting that seems to resolve it is probably a coincidence that the game just decides to work sometimes.

Mine hasn’t had multiplayer working for a year now 🥲 Sometimes my friends games show under active sessions… Sometimes they do not, no matter how I join I get failed to join lobby. It acts as though my game has no access to the internet. Yet, I’m in discord just fine talking to my buddies. I can play Rocket League just fine with friends. I even switched from my wired Starlink connection to my wireless century link internet. Still same thing so Ik it can’t be an issue with my internet.
