No Man's Sky
MacOS (INTEL) Low performance (unplayable)
I'm having a lot of problems on the MacOS (intel) version. The game is simply unplayable. :steamthumbsdown:

my specifications:

Platform: Intel Core 10th Gen Comet Lake Desktop
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z490M GamingX
Bios Version: F21
Storage: SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB
CPU: Intel Core i9 10900
GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 6600 8 GB
RAM: 2x16 32gb 3000Mhz DDR4

Any solution or update?

Completely unplayable for me as well. I literally have the most spec'd out version of the most powerful Intel based MacBook Pro and the game looks like a slide show. It takes minutes for me to even be able to try and exit out of the game and when I do it hangs and I have to force quit it. I was so stoked to get this game and stoked to see that not only did they support Intel Macs, but that my Mac far surpasses the minimum requirements. Three weeks and several bug reports later I am much less thrilled. No response to support requests. No possibility of a refund. I keep installing updates and they make no difference whatsoever.

Try contacting Steam Support anyway. I heard they sometimes issue refunds for special cases. Document your interactions with the developer, include any support tickets, say the game never worked and you're not getting any attention from the developer, etc. Clearly, you bought a defective product that doesn't work and Hello Games is infamous for not communicating with players.
Today the game updated from build 11490814 to 11534290 over 7Gb of update and remains unplayable for me. :steamfacepalm:
The game started pretty well, but performance degraded over time. Now I'm getting a crash as soon as I enter the environment. With only this save available, it's basically a fatal error everytime, no matter the setting. With 155 hours into this save, it's not worth it to keep the game.
My MacBook doesn't use the 'discrete' Radeon Pro 555x, and always uses integrated Intel UHD card.
you can both track that from 'activity monitor' or get 'gfxCardStatus' app

so far I have posted a ticket to the zendesk support, and waiting for the response.

I also have experienced variety of crashes after last update, please make sure you are submitting the ticket to zendesk and mention the error code.
Mybe you should make sure that both , your iGPU and Radeon, have the latest driver version
@Musashi You can't change or update or otherwise set your graphics drivers on Mac.

I just checked with GPU NMS is using on my Mac and it is using the discrete Radeon Pro 5600m, not the integrated Intel graphics. Further, the game is not even coming close to maxing out my CPU or my GPU, yet it runs like a slideshow.
Strange.. that is probably the disadvantage of a MAC
Btw .. maybe it is the same on a MAC :
Could you post the content of TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML .. we have that on a PC
If it is the same on a MAC it should be in

Strange .. it does not have an entry about the GPU which is in use --
On PC it looks like

<Property name="ResolutionWidth" value="1920" />
<Property name="ResolutionHeight" value="1080" />

and at the lower end :
<Property name="AdapterName" value="NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti" />
<Property name="AdapterIndex" value="0" />

Thats maybe the reason for your slideshow
You may delete that mxml (backup first ...just in case)
With the next launch of NMS it will be written again...
maybe it will than recognize your GPU

I tried making multiple changes to that file and none of them made a difference
after updating macOS to the latest version, and with yesterdays small update : my discrete GPU is working properly, and disregard that game still crashes it started to run smoother.
what small update? Steam hasn't installed any updates for me and I am already using the latest version of macOS
