AntiAliasingEx added to the TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML file
I just noticed, that at the bottom of the settings file, They added a new string.

<Property name="AntiAliasingEx" value="None" />

I know that setting wasn't there a day ago, so it must have been added yesterday or today when they pushed out the latest patch on the experimental build.

Oh, and this is the experimental build by the way.

Anyone know what this setting does? There's nothing new in the games graphical settings when in-game. Still the same AA options, Off, FXAA, and SSAA x4.

I remember Sean saying that they want to add in temporal AA to the game, but it wasn't ready for the launch. Any chance we may be getting new AA settings? I know a lot of people's frame-rates have tanked in the recent updates, since the game now scales the resolutions correctly, SSAA x4 is pretty insane on 99% of GPU's out there, and FXAA is awfule ( it's awful in every game ).

You're right it wasn't there before. I just looked, mine is set to FXAA, even though I have SSAA set to on. Experimental build also. No idea why the 2nd setting for AA. SSAAx4 takes my FPS from around 100 down to 50-70, but it looks much better. FXAA sucks worse than having no AA at all.

Looks like a dual AA solution. My regular AA option is SSAAx4 and the EX says FXAA.
I'm injecting SMAA via reshade so I'll probably disable the EX.

I'm just using a mod that forces the game to render at a higher resolution. It's a simple multiplier resolution mod. Can go from like .5x to 3x. Mine is currently at 1.5x resolution. which ends up being 2880x1620.

It gets rid of enough jaggies that i'm happy with it, but doesn't kill performance as bad as SSAA X4.

Though, mine says "none", since I don't have FXAA or SSAA X4 turned on, and Honestly, I don't feel like testing, since the game requires a restart to change pretty much every graphical option. Really annoying.

setting AntiAliasingEx to "none" in TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML disabled regular AA completely ingame.
setting Anti-aliasing ingame to SSAAx4 and AntiAliasingEx does stay at FXAA.

maybe this is just part of the future upgrade to a TXAA option.

If you delete that mxml file, the game will regenerate it, and you'll see that the "AntiAliasing" property has been renamed to ""AntiAliasingEx".

What that means, only the patch notes can say, but the "AntiAliasing" property is no longer used or read by the engine. It's now named "AntiAliasingEx". That is all.
